Map Update 14.5 coming soon

Just ordered mine this morning also.

The download does not work for me. It did for the previous release.

I enter my order number in the down loader, login, select the card that came with the car (which has the previous release on it)

Select save to PC / Use Saved files, or not it makes no difference.

Click Start Install, the down loader asks if I am sure, click yes

Downloaded says formatting and deletes all files on the card, and then says installation successful.

The card is empty, and there are no files on the WIndows 10 PC (in Downloads\MnSMapUpdate)

Update:

I was using Mapcare | Home page for the download.

I called the support number and they informed me that I should use: Official Genesis Navigation Update Website

It was not clear if Mapcare | Home page was down for good, or just temporarily.

Thanks for that update. I contacted support about the same issue. They sent me an email telling me the problem and said there was a work around site to use but never included the site in the email. Duh..... The updated download worked it was really for my Santa Fe. I ordered a package for my G70.

Checking just now, the 14.5 map update is available for my 2018 G80 ... It appears the update (by mail or download) is still at no cost to me.

I just ordered 14.5 for my G80 base, 8" screen - and again the "Bill to GMA" was available on the last page of checkout.

I chose regular shipping... I just put the last update in a few months ago!

I just looked at the new features list - no new features listed at 14.5 - only 14.0. So only POI updates here in this rev.

Using 14.0 (until 14.5 arrives) and noticed today there's no easy way to change the route preferences while in navigation mode. O at least I haven't figured it out.

The main setting I'm trying to change is to allow or avoid toll roads. They are all over Dallas and sometimes I like to use them, sometimes avoid them. Sure would be nice to be able to toggle that with a click or two, while navigating.

If you know where to get on the other road it will recalculate for you It did around DC anyway.

I'm hoping Junction View works again. It is supposed to be better but never came up for me in spots where it would be handy.

When I did the last upgrade the Avoid Tolls was default. I was at my daughter's house about 35 miles away. I know the way home but thought I'd turn the navigation on anyway just to see if anything different. It wanted me to take a 219 mile route to avoid $2 in tolls.

Yes... I was on a tollroad and it kept telling me to get off. There were exits every quarter mile. I was trying to find the setting to allow toll roads, but it kept "recalculating" and I could not even cancel the route via the screen.

I did finally find the option to toggle Avoid Toll Roads but it was not intuitive and 3-4 clicks from the main map view. Maybe I can add it as a shortcut, but I doubt it.

Just got mine in the mail today. I've got a 2018 Sport, so it has the 9.2 inch touchscreen with DIS controller. I popped the SD card in, but the update button is grayed out. I have no option to update. Is there a trick to it?

Well there are only 2 options for 2018 G80. The 8 inch nav, and the 9.2 inch nav with DIS. I selected the latter.

Update didn't take very long. Look at the System Info and see if the map version is NAM.13.47.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. That's what mine is after the update.

Pop the card in your laptop and take a look at what is inside. The first time I tried 14.5, it went very fast and when I got to the car, it would not load (greyed out). The card was empty. (The car is smarter than the owner.. )

If so, try again. Make sure it loads.

To update anyone curious... I called mapnsoft and they said that sometimes vehicles with the rotary knob have an issue where they just won't accept the SD card. In that case, they will send you a USB drive to attach while the stubborn to read SD card is still inserted, and the update is done that way. I was told they're going to create a ticket and see what their IT dept. wants to do from there, but most likely send a USB drive to assist in the update.

Thanks Bubba. I tried it a few different ways, and one was exactly the way you did it. No luck. I checked and got the same part number you did as well.

I tried the update also.. Didn't work for me. Greyed out..i had the same problem with Mapnsoft when I updated my 2013 Optima SXL. They bricked my radio and the dealership had to install a new one (Mapnsoft paid for it). I told him about that when I ordered for G80.. He says I wouldn't have that problem again. I have a 2018 G80.. Don't know if this is correct..

Another update for everyone. Their IT department emailed me back and said they sent me the wrong one. I ordered correct, but they sent the wrong one. The packaging didn't specify what map it was, so maybe they just mispacked them or something similar. Just an FYI for everyone. They said they'll send the correct one ASAP.
