  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Or it might have been their development methodology of continuous integration and continuous delivery with automated user acceptance testing where developers just push things into production via their pipeline whenever they want. You have to think more agile and stop siloing. This is the price of progress, or progressivism, I'm not really sure. :slapself:
Lol love it! You must be in IT! I was thinking the same ;)

It’s not just the Nav…it’s the lost phone pairings, different seat, mirror, and steering wheel position settings on two profiles, lots of radio presets, the fingerprint registration, and the many little convenience settings that can be in two profiles. Those all have to be re-entered. And if you have a finicky second driver like I do, it can take more than a few minutes to get everything right again. Happy it only took you half an hour. I only wish it would be that little for me.
The main driver profile was deleted. When that happens every setting associated with that profile is gone. Everything is back to day one. My Navigation alone will take a ton of time to determine all the missing saved places and past destinations that I use regularly.

Over the weekend our systems experienced an issue causing user profile data to be reset for a select group of customers. In most cases the user profile data should have been restored on Saturday following the incident. However if your settings were not restored, or you are still experiencing difficulty in resetting your profile, please review this video with instructions on how to setup your profile. If you are still experiencing issues or have concerns, please share your experience including screen shots if possible to the Contact Us form so that we may assist you as effectively as possible.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience.

Best regards,
Bluelink Customer Care

Thanks raggedy! In talking with a few other Ioniq/Genesis owners who were impacted, it seems not everyone got this email.

I also wrote to Customer care on Sunday about the reset issue but received no response other than they received my request

I had my GV80 computer rebooted and updated nine days ago and a few days ago all the settings cleared once again, back to factory default besides, the issue of re-having to do all the settings manually the where the speedometer in between the two Diles rate normally read the mileage per hour it no longer states anything it just has a picture of the GV80 and we cannot remove it so does it have to be updated with the computer again but this is getting ridiculous
Did you get the Diles fixed?

I have yet to successfully receive an actual OTA Update, I have had to perform them manually, but I seem to have no problem getting this OTA bogus software update, that really did a good job of sending all my previous settings into default😱🤔😡

He is the first person that I read about getting any communications.

Me too. I got no such email and by Sunday, nothing had been restored in my car, so I went through the time consuming process of redoing everything. And I wrote Genesis too asking them to contact me. I'm sure that will happen :-) NOT

You do not have to take it from me just call into Genesis Customer Service and listen to the message. This issue is still being investigated as Genesis has no clue as to what happened. I don’t see how they can tell people that there is something that can be done to keep this from happening again when they still have no idea as to the cause. I was on the phone with customer service this morning. This could be a case of a bunch of customer service representatives just telling people anything to give them that warm and fuzzy feeling.

To add fuel to the fire, still no communication from Genesis, and when you go onto the app to try to send a message, the Captcha doesn't work at the end and won't let you send. Some tech folks need to lose their jobs. Pathetic for a "luxury" car maker
My Apple I-phone app (owners. genesis. com) is useless for the same reasons...won't let me log on after numerous attempts trying!!! I called Genesis assistance and she said someone will get back to me in 3 weeks...WTH!!! Piss poor support for sure!!!

If you're talking about the Genesis Connected Services app on your iPhone not communicating with your car. It's very easy to get it reconnect. I often have to reconnect my Genesis Connected Services.

(Make sure your vehicle is on and in park, Bluetooth needs to be turned off)

1.Hold down the map and setup key until the screen turns off
3.Press Bluelink or Genesis Connected Services (for some models, press Bluelink or GCS then Bluelink or GCS Settings).
4.Press Service Activation or Reconfigure.
5.Wait for the "Enrollment Successful" message then press OK.

Thanks...will give it a try when time allows.

From what I've seen online it's a Bluelink issue (which includes Genesis Connected Services) and it happened to a lot of cars in the Hyundai family, not just EVs.

I don't use the nav or radio so putting my settings back was not that big of a deal, but I can see how it will be very annoying for some. =(

You're welcome. It's a simple and quick thing to do. Keep the directions handy for the future. They, by the way, came directly from Genesis. I seem to need to do this with my car on average about every other month. Possibly because I don't use the app much to lock or unlock my car, so according to Genesis the head unit stops communicating with my App and it needs to be "woken" up. At least its easy enough to wake up :)
