I bought a '13 CPO base 3.8 in October of this past year ('14) and have been very pleased with it so far. The car had 45000 miles on it and I paid $18,500 for it.
So far this car has been an absolute dream. It rides smooth, transmission is silky smooth, and an absolute pleasure to drive. I feel like I sort of lucked out because I didn't know much about the genesis until after I bought it, but I am glad I have the '12+ suspension, GDI engine, and bluetooth.
I've also had
rigid collars installed and I can tell you without a doubt, it handles much more crisply now and feels much more stable and planted. The car takes less time to "recover" after bumps and always feels in control. It's crazy how much it changed the feel for the better without causing any extra harshness or losing any ride quality. The steering
wheel feels much tighter now.
If you want the most reliable ride and the best value, I would consider a base 3.8. I did think about not having a NAV screen, but luckily there is the UNAVI after market that I can add on if I ever want NAV and backup camera.
No matter what genesis you get though, I think you'll be doing very well and will be pleased

I have been!
I'll tell it to you like a told a friend, every time I go to get into my car, I get excited. On Monday morning I'm more excited about getting to drive to work than I am disappointed in the weekend being over. I still take rides at 11:00 at night just because I want to ride in my car. I've put hours upon hours into polishing it, sealing, waxing, cleaning, treating leather, etc. I just love everything about it.
And yea in case you can't tell... it's my first "real" car
