  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My TL gets 13.5 mpg city. Can I do better in Genesis?

How much did the wing kit cost?

If installed by the dealer the parts and labor are about $300-400; some people negotiate this into their deal. I just negotiated the installation so I had to provide the parts.

The front and rear wings are about $30-40 on ebay

The Wheel caps... this is where it gets tricky.. if you have the v6 the wheel caps are about $40 maybe less; if you have the v8 the caps are about $200. Here is the trick if you have the v8 and want to don't want to spend $200 on wheel caps and are handy. Since the v8 are not sold in Korea (just based on research I did at the time) the wheel caps they sell for the v8 for $200 are actually modified orignal v8 flying H wheel caps. People take the V6 wheel caps heat them up with a heat gun or bake them in the over(225 for 15 min) and peel them off. Then they take their stock flying H wheel caps heat those up and pry out the flying H. Once that is done they put the genesis wings from the v6 caps in place.

I hope that makes sense lol.

2010 3.8L V6 Genny...soon to be a 2012

So far my worst mileage in city has been 16.5mpg on 87 octane fuel, while the best city average I've had was 21.6mpg. On the highway I get an average of 28.8-30.7mpg @ 72-80MPH....the best I ever achieved was 34.2MPG behind a semi truck that was doing over 80MPH (not that I suggest tailing a semi lol) ...I had the adaptive cruise control set to the middle position so it allowed the car ample time to slow down if necessary.

One thing I found to help the mileage was replacing the stock air filter with a K&N air filter, the engine breathes a lot easier and you also get a small boost to your HP. I also use Lucas fuel additive every 4-5 tanks to help clear out any potential buildup from different quality fuels. Here in FL you have to watch for condensation in your tank since the humidity here gets really bad.

Just my 2 cents on the subject matter :)

Just finished mine rebadging the other day (wheels as described above). Total cost - ~$60 (trunk, wheels, steering wheel sticker) and about 3hr of work

I have a 2009 4.6 V8. I get 29 mpg highway/17 mpg city. All stock engine - no fancy K&N filters or anything like that. But I also don't jack rabbit start much (unless I'm next to a BMW 7series or Lexus 4 series!!) or gas on it up to the brake points - so I'd imagine someone could get less depending on their driving behaviors.
