  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My trip to Fort Lauderdale Auto Show - 2015 Genesis

You should be careful about the starting price of the V6 K900. I'm fairly certain the V8 has standard equipment that the V6 doesn't. When both are optioned, I bet the difference between the V6 Genesis and K900 will be larger than $4K.

Thanks for the advise. I am sure that the K900 will close in on the Equus when optioned. A lot of the options are not a big deal to me so if I went for a K900, I would probably go for the V6 base or 1 pkg up. I want to test drive both the K900 and 2015 Genesis back to back and compare when they come out. Since I would be changing vehicles because of want not need, I can afford to wait until both are out.

I disagree that the 2015 seat isn't better than the 2009-14 seat. It's not just the thigh extender that makes it better, but also the fact that it has way more bolstering to actually keep you in the seat. You said yourself that it was comfortable. Hyundai has kept all the comfort of the current seat amd improved the design. How can that not be considered better?

Perhaps the changes are not necessary for my personal buttocks. :D

There is no 2 alike :D

Alwaysforward-Thanks for the reply. Still trying to determine if there are significant external differences in the two modes. Specifically with fog lights.

I can live with the rear, and I actually like the quad pipes, but I have to agree on the front grill. I loved my old A6, but have never acquired a taste for the gaping "mouth" on newer Audi's or any copies from Lexus, Ford, etc. Is there a bumper in there or not??

+1

I followed AlwaysForward's lead and went to the show this afternoon....IMO, the 2015 Genesis is stunning! I know styling is a personal matter...but I really think it was the best looking car at the show.

Couldn't see the interior or feel the quality of the materials and switches which is important to me. Also noticed the front of the car is badged with the genesis wing emblem (the trunk sports the flying h).

The car getting the most attention and biggest crowds (at least while I was there) was the Kia K900. I loved it, except for the portholes on each side just ahead of the front doors. The exterior is a bit more rakish that the Equus and the interior/dash is very similar in quality, layout and appearance. A really, really nice car but aside from cannibalizing Equus sales, I don't see its potential.....even tho with the right deal I may lease one.

What really impressed me about the show was how nice most new cars really are.

I agree with your findings on the K900 Sandy. It is a really nice car but the price is up there with the Equus. I too wish I could have sat in the new 2015 Genesis. Nothing like touching the materials and seeing how it all feels first hand. It won't be long now.

I agree it is a nice car, but when you look at there product as a whole, they all look the same. Take a look at the 2014 Cadenza, Forte, K900 and Optima Sedans. They all have similar grilles.

Same goes for Acura:

Same for Lexus:

It appears Hyundai is now doing the same thing with the Sonata. I like cars that are not cookie cutter from one model to the next. Look at Lexus and Acura. There front grilles are all alike from one model to the next. I don't know why manufacture lean toward that cookie cutter design.
