If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

Still no OTA availability here in suburban Philadelphia, so I broke out a USB stick and did the deed today with physical media.

Snap verdict: wireless CarPlay is not bad and the ability to cast maps onto the cluster display is fab.
CarPlay directions in the HUD also slap. I don't think I'm going to use the cluster display, but the HUD integration is fantastic, including "which lane to be in" like the native GPS. Masterfully done, Genesis! We love you! Wooo!

I wonder if the engineering team ever gets to hear this kind of positive feedback, I know I don't really at my job :)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I can’t wait to install it. I’ve downloaded the update to my laptop, but am currently in Costa Rica on vacation. I will start the update moments within returning home. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was just at the dealer for 5 hours on Monday. They insisted that there was no way to do this update without waiting for OTA. They also didn't seem to even have a clue that wireless phone projection (to use the Genesis term for it) was even in the cards.

Downloaded and applied this update after getting home from work this afternoon. Works like a charm.

I only tried the Nav. once since the update and I noticed the car play directions on the cluster display, does it also show up automatically in the HUD? Maybe it did but did not pay attention or is there something I need to do to have it show up in the HUD and cluster?

It does for Apple Maps but not for other navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze, ABRP etc.

Also on a recent road trip for some reason the HUD would stop showing nav information after a couple of minutes. Very frustrating since I had gotten used to it. Then after 24 hours it started working again. I suspect it was because I was running both routes with both Apple Maps and ABRP at the same time, but that combination worked fine for the first part of the trip.

You have to have the navigation HUD content enabled in the HUD settings, but otherwise no it just werked without any other adjustments.

I updated via USB this morning, works brilliantly.

To reiterate, you have to remove GV60 from your existing CarPlay connections in settings > general > CarPlay, I also removed it from Bluetooth, and then was prompted to enable wireless CarPlay while re-adding the vehicle Bluetooth connection.

No issues so far, and I took a phone call with it. Super stoked that Genesis ported this back to already delivered vehicles. This was my number one grievance about the car, totally solved now 🫶
Hooray! Thank you for these instructions!

I tried it again this morning and it works! Thanks for the input.

I am on vacation and won't be able to installed the wireless CarPlay update until i return to CT on 11/3. I know a few of the people on this board have reported a change in the GV60 Performance car driving dynamics that the ride is not as squishy and that the car handles better after the update is installed. Now that others have installed this update is do they have any thoughts on this.

Additionally my dealer said that there is a major semiannual update was suppose to be coming out earlier this year but now is suppose to be coming in October. Is this update it or is there another update coming.

I have been having a problem that the native Genesis navigation system shows that I need to charge my vehicle when it is fully charged and I am only a mile away from my destination. I am hoping that one of these new downloads will correct this issue. Has anyone else seen this?

I had always had the suspension in the "comfort mode." Before the update I went into the
"settings" and changed the suspension, braking and steering wheel feel from comfort to sport. It's no longer "squishy" but a firmer ride which I like. The car handles better with less body roll and less of the up and down motion (squishy). I got the Nav update a couple of weeks ago. But today when I got in the car, it said there was another update, but that it would update the next time I started the car. I have yet to do so.

Thanks for GreyGV60 for the comments. Please let us know what the update is that you will be updating and what it does. Have you experienced any of the issues that I have regarding the vehicle saying that I need to charge as I wont have enough charge to reach my destinatiion even when I am fully charged and my destination is only 3 or 4 miles away.

i was also wondering if you do an OTA update and you missed a previous update if it brings you current on all updates. I also wonder if I upload the Carplay update from the uploader app if it would bring me current on anything updates previous to it.

I have not experienced any of the issues you mentioned. Some of the update involves of course the wireless carplay. Nav. updated that it will suggest saving places like "home" for frequently visited places, Traffic information is now displayed on calculated routes, EV charging stations are now easier to find on the maps, you can change the audible speed limit warnings etc.. You can find out more details on the update at update.genesis.com I do not think that this specific OTA would bring you current on all OTA's. For example there was a prior OTA specifically for the cars vehicle control unit, which has nothing to do with the Nav and maps.. From the other member's comments, some receive OTA updates as soon as it comes out, and others may wait weeks or months to receive the same OTA. In 2023 I was not getting all the OTA's. I waited until service was due and I asked the dealer to make sure I had all of the current software updates. Not sure if this applies to all dealers but mine stated they cannot download the software and then upload it to the car using an USB stick. They said they were told they must do it via an OTA. In my case I had to leave the car overnight. Genesis OTA's have always been hit or miss for me. I heard the best OTA's are on TESLA vehicles. People tell me they are seamless with no real issues.

I just had the newer 240923 version pushed to me via OTA yesterday in MD. Release notes look identical to the previous but assuming it includes bug fixes.

I got impatient and did it with USB stick since I was still on the April release. It is so odd to me how they seem to push to some vehicles and not others. I wish we could crack the code on how to get "on the list". But, thanks to this group, I learned about the download option, did it, and am thrilled to finally have wireless.

I'm running these versions in my 2025 GV80 Coupe.

I did the OTA a while ago. Today I was scrolling through the infotainment and noticed a new update. It asked if I wanted to complete the install. I should have taken a pic before I confirmed. Anyone else notice this?

yes. I did likewise. I don't know what changed.

Here's my best reconstruction of the recent software update versions. It's my speculation only that the very latest version (240923) addressed some bugs in version 240826, which was an intermediate version only available OTA.

I did this update yesterday. It may have addressed some bugs (which I never noticed), but didn't address the bug that really bugs me.

The Audio system used to remember volumes. If I was listening to the radio at 5, and switched to Media, it would remember the volume I last listening to there. Now, it keeps the volume from one source to another. Typically media playing is at 16. When I switch back to radio it stays at 16 and blows my ears out, whereas before it would remember radio being at 5.
This all happened after the earlier OTA update. I had hoped this newest one would fix it. :(

I agree with your complaint! It seems odd to go backwards with audio volume options unless there was some other constraint associated with wireless phone projection. Regardless, it would seem to be more of a feature removal than a bug. Grrr. :sneaky:
