  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

Spoke to Connected Services today about a DK2 & AA issue. I asked when the next update would be coming out and they said in about a month. We shall see...

Little confused here - I have a 2025 G90 - can the speed limit sign show in the HUD? I cant get it to show - I think I checked an option. Also, are there suppose to be color traffic indicators showing in the map? I believe I saw that somewhere , but cant even find a Nav Manual now ??? I checked in my online account. I did see an option to show traffic colors in the infotainment and have that checked - but I see no colors on the map - just a green line for the route when I have a destination entered.

Yes, the speed limit should show if there has been a speed limit sign in the area you have driven. In addition to the HUD, l believe you will also see it on the display in front of you. At least here in the US, it would be a picture of a speed limit sign.

I just installed the ProClip mount and the Qi2 MagSafe charger from Scosche. I hate that it blocks a passenger vent, but it holds the phone perfectly and charges at full speed from the non-data port.

With Apple products (at least) you’ll always get better charge rates when wired. My 12 maxes at 15W gross wirelessly, but can pull a hair over 20 when wired. Newer products will do 25/30W.
I'm not sure if Qi2 would help much, at least not with the Pixel phones I've had. Even in my Mach E, I could do wireless AA *or* wireless charging. I think both cause heat - GPS and the massive wifi data for screen projection draw quite a bit of current and then with the extra heat from the wireless charging - it often gets to be too much.

Wireless charging always produces more heat. Than wired, but a good aftermarket charger is day and night vs. the built-in unit. The built in is essentially non-functional. I haven’t experienced any substantial limitation to my aftermarket unit (aside from mounting location).

That is a pretty big state. Are you in a large city, not countryside?

I thought this article was relevant to this discussion, despite the fact that it refers to the Kia EV9...

The issues the author mentions with the Navigation system and especially route planning and charging for longer trips are exactly the same in the GV60.

Also, the "reality check" of where Kia/Hyundai/Genesis are with regards to OTA updates and overall integration and function of their app are sobering, and match our experience.
