I checked out the local dealership last Thursday then came home and built a coupe on the Hyundai website. The base price for a 3.8GT (the highest model trim in Canada) was $36,795. I built one again the following evening (to check out financing or some such) and was shocked to see the 3.8GT was now $38,295 ($1500 more than the previous day).
Now, I figured that was just typical. I am finally ready to pull the trigger on one of these things and they up the price. However, upon returning to the trim selection page, I noticed that there were some additions; GENESIS COUPE 3.8 with Navigation - Manual, and GENESIS COUPE 3.8 with Navigation - Automatic with a difference of 1500 bones from the non-nav versions.
Turns out the nav system is now standard equipment on the 3.8GT. Thus the price hike.
It will be interesting to see whether they use the pre or post-nav price as the base when I go to pick up my coupe since you can no longer get a new GT without navigation.
