  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Quirks

If we're still talking about a 2g, guidance volume can be adjusted directly from the volume control JUST WHILE THE VOICE IS GIVING DIRECTIONS. No need to go into menus.

I was just about to say this; this is/was also true for the 1st Gen.

First of all, thanks from ME for the 411. But a question: I think I've done this and I believe this A) only keeps NAV volume down or up for THAT turning-on of the car, and/or B) does this set the relationship of NAV volume to MEDIA volume in the way you can deep in the menu or does it just turn it all down or up? You DID carefully specify that one must do this WHILE THE VOICE IS GIVING DIRECTIONS (thank you) so does that fact, in effect, mean that the NAV is in control of the controls at that point so that the down/up will affect only the NAV and once the directions stop the media will return to its volume while NAV will hold what you've set it at.

You guys are all so awesome. :grouphug:

Yes , it will be exactly like this as you explained. Only in the navi settings you need to mark that the navi voice is louder than the media volume. That way if you listening radio for example and navigation tells you turn or do something , it will be louder than music from radio.

Is there a way to reboot the nav system without turning off the car? Today I set up a route and all it was doing is calculating......... 100%. Never finished. I had to pull off and shut the car off.

Remove and reinsert the SD card for maps. It resets the Nav.

I just had that happen to me. We were on a route that had been calculated. We stopped for lunch and the Sirius system became stuck in "updating" mode. I didn't notice that the Nav system had frozen until we had gone way past the turn-off. I pulled over and stopped the car. When I restarted it was still frozen. I used my phone to deadhead to our destination and it reset when we came out about 30 minutes later.

Last month we went to a mall up in Orlando. We set our POI to a specific store in the mall. The Nav system directed us into the mall parking lot and then directed us all the way around the mall and put us near a mall entrance. When we walked into the mall, the store was close to this entrance. Was this just a coincidence?

Same thing to me, I don't know if you saw your post earlier, when I put POI airport, it wanted to drive me right to the runway :)
I guess the POI doesn't work well , when I put the POI address manually instead of just name of POI, the navigation is correct, also had to watch out for options given shortest route or fastest route. When I compared at map the lines was the same and the time was a little favor to shortest, I decided to go shortest , it took me off the Interstate, and trough some neighborhoods, and then back again after like 3 exits of the same highway :)

I used to get similar messages in my previous car a Linkoln MKS and also on iPhone Scout Nav app. Smart cars still need us.

Anyone used the "use toll pass" option? It was working when i first got the car but now even if i have it enabled, it tries to direct me over to the payment booths which here in SoCal have been removed.

Any ideas? I've tried deselecting it and then re-adding it under the route options, i've tried it with no directions mapped and with directions running but it still wants me to go via the booth.

Help!

I did use, but it was a few weeks ago, it worked, didn't use for now, as I don't need navigation to drive locally, but I can try and put in my destination and enable this feature.

Where is the "use toll pass" option?

If you driving toll road, the navigation says you have to go trough pay booth , kinda take left line or right line, depends where the boots located. If you have tool pass or I don't know how in other states it's called, prepaid tool sticker , and you don't have to drive trough boot to pay tool, when you add destination, there is a option says use toll pass, and it will not say you to drive through the pay boots, it's a little annoying every time it say that.

Do you have to select toll pass every time or does it default to toll pass once you select it?

I don't exactly remember,But I am pretty sure, that you do only first time

Yup, you are correct.

I'm gonna remove the SD card to try and reset the nav system to see if that fixes the issue for me.

I'll report my findings.

Nope, restarting the nav system didn't do anything (except restart the navigation system) so i emailed Hyundai support and they basically told me to contact my dealer..

Surprised they don't have systems in place to at least troubleshoot some of the car issues.
