  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I really want a 5.0 ultimate in silver or grey, by there aren't many 2015s left. I am considering a white one.
I know it's a little more work to keep clean over the other colors I'm considering.
What I want to know is, do you have any bumper exhaust staining like the last generation?

I have no exhaust staining on my bumper so far, and had my car since August 2015. In my opinion though black requires the most work to keep clean since you can see the smallest amount of dust. I've owned 3 black cars previously as well, so literally every 2 weeks I would have to wash the car.

No staining on the bumper. I have had build up on my exhaust tips but I keep them waxed and they clean up nicely. My car is Montecito Blue.

And swirl marks if not properly washed, correct?

Definitely those swirl marks! Clay bar or a good buffing can clear those swirl marks down the line though depending how severe they are.

no issues on my white car. pearl white actually hides dirt really well. also a proper ceramic coating on the paint can certainly go a long way towards thwarting both dirt and exhaust from having any long lasting impact on the paint.

This sounds reassuring.

What is a ceramic coating? and how would someone go about getting one?

I thought the g1 was very good looking in white, til I saw the hind end stained with soot.
I love my tungsten R-spec, but cant find any of that color.

I think black is by far the best looking color, for the 5 minutes it is clean after detailing. I know I am too lazy to maintain a black car's appearance. I have had 2 white cars in the past, and don't remember either one being that bad to keep looking nice.

Xpel film is also an alternative.

look up Cquartz. I have it on my wifes Cayenne and its absolutely amazing how well it works. her car is black.

its like a glass coating that makes maintaining your paint much easier as it blocks so much from bonding with the paint or clearcoat.

for some reason white seems to not do well with the DH, maybe because it has the silver matte trim.
