  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New little bro coming??? A Genesis version of the Veloster??

I don't care too much about the car itself, but this is a good opportunity to understand where Genesis' design language is going.

- Based on the roof of this concept, it seems that Genesis is trying to commit to the high-visibility, glass dome roof that was in the Essentia. I like that, but how they can translate this to production cars while maintaining safety and rigidity remains the question.

- The G-Matrix pattern comes up again, previously mentioned with the Essentia as a 3D printed aspect inside the door to have a good balance of solidity and weight savings. I think it was also in the GV80 Concept with the pillars and the wheels. And this time it's used a lot more, particularly everywhere in the interior. Because of that and because this is the 3rd time it's appeared, I bet it'll be a recurring motif in future production cars. I like it, particularly on the wheels.

- I like the headlights vs. the G90, new G80, GV80 Concept, and Essentia headlights with the slits or weird box style. It's a good middle ground between those concept headlights and the aggressive shape of the G70's. I wish the taillights weren't the exact same shape though; that's just tacky.

- Genesis likes defined rear fenders. The G70, GV80 Concept, new G80 spy shots, Essentia Concept, and now this have them. Only the new G90 doesn't have them, though that's a luxobarge.

For the overall car, I'm very whelmed. Not sure why it has the weird side doors instead of just a regular trunk. I can appreciate that it looks pretty good for having such a small front hood. To compare, the Model 3 looks like a weird egg because of its body shape with the small front hood. As cars move to being electric more and more, long front hoods won't be needed and will be phased out, so having a design with a good looking small front hood is nice.

And this is a neat tidbit:

"Fitzgerald demurred when asked how the production of the Essentia concept was coming, noting that the company would love to 'greenlight' the project but is still searching for 'the right formula for the propulsion system.'"

That was the worst thing I have seen a while. It was 0% about the car, it felt like a fashion show that happened to have a concept driving around the people.

Hah! Yeah...what a let down. Dumbest concept ever, sorry Genesis. Wahp wahp.

Ok first the big gripe. WHAT WAS THAT!!!! Thought I was watching some apple event.
Now that that's out of the way, things I liked.
I like the fact that Genesis showed us they are working on EV. Gives us more to look forward to like possibly a EV70, EV80, EV90. Don't know if they will go that direction, but maybe something similar.
I liked the lines on the car. Looked like an electric Genesis Veloster concept to me. Not crazy about the rear hatch, but I like that they are exploring new ideas to see what they can do different.
I liked those headlights, and brake lights. I agree with Kusa Kusa that these lights look better than what we saw on the GV80, and G90 reveal.
I liked the large fender wells, and large wheel size.
I thought that the leather interior was nice. I liked how the dash was all leather. I also liked the diamond shape design.
I know it's very unlikely to see this in a production car, but it's a concept to explore ideas. See where the hits and misses are.
Lets see where they take it.
As far as overall style goes, I really liked the Essentia concept. Wasn't crazy about how they did the lights on that one.
The Vision G concept is really nice. I enjoyed the interior, the lights, and the lines on the car. Looked really good.
The New York concept was ok. I liked the lights on that car as well. They did a good job. I also liked the interior a lot on that one. I didn't find the lines on the car as flattering as the Vision, or Essentia however.
And that's my 2 cents. :)

So disappointing & boring . I don't get the Koreans making such good cars & being so enamored with Fitzgerald. That whole "Show " sure was a waste of time. Don't get the point of it at all & the car or should we say transportation device was a MEH.
They really need to rethink their marketing tactics
if they think this type of announcement will present a positive message for Genesis & more importantly sell cars.
We have our Calgary International Car Show starting today. I will ask the Genesis representative if they liked the "Show" if they even saw it.

its a small 3 seat ctiy EV luxury car.
