  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Map v13.0 update available

Android lets you choose from a couple of replies.

Thank you

When you are moving, it will read the message to you but you cannot view it.

I don't imagine iOS would be much different.
Better than nothing. iOS currently only allows to read it out or view when you're stopped!

but I wish they could just trust the driver to do things safely
I sure as hell wouldn't. There's a reason I no longer ride my bicycle to work and sold my motorcycle: People "driving" their cars. Driving being in quotes to let everyone know that's what the technical term is when someone is behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. However, "driving" does not encompass paying attention to the road and the objects around you. Especially these days.

I'm a bit confused about the above AA texting being commented about.

With my set up, if a text comes in, there is a drop down that pops up on the display and I can hit "play" to hear message. Then it asks if I want to reply. Which then I can tell it whatever I want to as the reply, not just a few canned replies.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I think I found the answer to this. I saw your replay about a half hour ago and did some research. I turned the new on the TV at noon. I rewound the news to noon, then fast forwarded it through the next half hour. There were four commercials from three different law firms promising "we'll get you the settlement you DESERVE". That advertising goes on all day. If you were Mr. Genesis, what would you do?

Which I why I said I understand the reasoning. I also understand the dangers of inattentive driving, so I'd do the exact same thing they have.

In regards to the preset responses, a "voice reply" option where you could use talk to text would be cool too. It would be nice to see them incorporate a way to dismiss texts or select responses from the wheel (or maybe I need to RTFM).

I think CarPlay lets you do that but I'm not sure. I never use it or mess with it.

I stick to bluetooth too. I don't feel like having a wire hanging around the cabin just for AA.

I don't mind the wire. I have a CD slot MagMount and a 6" cable that attaches to phone/car USB. Honestly you can't even see it unless you try to look for it.

It’s not CarPlay, it’s Siri EyesFree. I use it all the time with the steering wheel talk button. With a long press I can ask Siri to read my texts (or emails). I can verbally reply to texts also. No need for anything else except of course an iPhone! Been using it for a couple of years.
It’s independent of Nav so makes no difference what screen you have.

After finally getting it to download installed on the SD card went to do the update and the car tells me that this update is not available for my region. What the hell? Called Mapnsoft phone number which is actually you get through to Genesis connected services talk to them they’re gonna try and see if they can figure out how to get a actual SD card mailed to me. Luckily I copied the files off of the SD card before I did anything so reinstall them and now the map navigation works again.

😒

Are you in the US?

I wouldn't mind in the G70 if I didn't have to remove the USB drive every time. I shouldn't have to choose between USB music and AA.

Good lord, folks say wired are old school? USB drives are so 90's! :) Seriously, I can't believe folks still use USB drives in cars to listen to music.Nuts I say.

At least Phoenix is dry heat. I can deal with that. Where I live it's 95 degrees with 98% humidity. Feels like Satan's buttcrack here.
I'm in MS. Same hot and humid weather. Damn humidity is a killer. A few years ago I was in Vegas and the temps were around 100. My friends from up north were dying. I was perfectly fine. Of course that's still hot but it's such a different feel. Not draining like here. It's no wonder we're so lazy in the south. Too damn hot and humid to do anything. Then in the winter it's such a change that we're literally freezing our asses off. Why the hell do I still live here...

I had to Google "USB"...

I know Phoenix seems like the Sahara but why would it say 13.5 is not available for my region?

Sounds 100 million times better than Bluetooth - especially ripped to FLAC from a CD ;)
