Been here awhile...
If the car is sitting out in the hot sun idle it's by far worse for it then going down the road at 60mph as everything is getting air. I had brought mine in for a map update 2 years ago almost and they said it would be 3+ hours till the car was ready, so they put me in a loaner car for the day. After about 4 hours they called me back saying the updated failed and had to be started over so they would need to keep my vehicle till the following day. It had about 3/8th's of a tank when I brought it in to them. The technician forgot the car was running and everyone went home, leaving my car to run fully out of gas and kill the battery. They wound up replacing the fuel pump and battery plus gave me the map update for free.
I'm not a fan of their navigation software and the process for updating is archaic to say the least considering how advanced technology is. Every vehicle should be using Google Maps even if it's via there "blue link" package. I'm o.k. with paying $125-150/year so long as it has the latest updates and can be done over the air or by a thumb drive that is coded to your car, it cant be that difficult to accomplish. I think more people would be willing to pay for the updates and Hyundai would generate greater revenue as a bottom line.
