  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New owner of 2009 Genesis V6 Tech

Its done by a detailing shop that does it for dealers. I am in canada with all the salt and grime, I just don't want to take the chance. I know modern day cars rust is rare. The other stuff was just a whole package. Everything included is 700 CAD. It is not very expensive comparatively.

They use diamond kote-which also provides lifetime warrenty.

I have no clue if the sound shield does anything, but its just part of the package :P - who knows. Paid for this in cash..might as well protect it like a baby:D

Not to beat a dead horse (isn't it funny how people always say that...right before they do)...and it is too late to help you this time, but this stuff is just expensive add ons that don't benefit the car or you. The original manufacturer's perforation warranty is the most important. You don't want to lose it, by having some bozos drill holes (that can rust) in your panels and spray goop (that can mess up mechanisms and trap moisture) so they can sell you an additional warranty that isn't as good. If you are lucky, they actually won't do anything and just charge you the money.

700 dollars buys a nice flat screen TV.

P.S. I suspect the "sound" package is part of the rust proofing. They often spray goop all over the bottom of the car which they say also helps with sound transmission. After you get the car back I'd check to make sure they properly replaced all the plastic underbody panels.

I appreciate your comments. There are quite a mix in regards to rust proofing, but what is done is done. Does anyone have any images of the plastic underbody panels? - That I would like to make sure.

Thanks!
