HOORAY..............
Just want to add a little more info about remote start, based on today's experience.
I had a simple
aftermarket remote system added to my '16 3.8 2wd Genny.
Been studying it for weeks; kept hearing and reading of things I didn't want to accept: ie: there would be an anti-takeover feature, hardwired into the Genny, so I would have to stop the engine in order to unlock the car, then restart it after entering. Also: the flashers would have to flash continually, because that is hardwired into the car too. And some more I'm forgetting.
So then I visited and interviewed my 4th local installer.
It's all good; none of the bad stuff is true.
$277 later, I have an Avital 4105L installed; I have 2 small fobs with 1000 foot range; I can use either the Avital fob or the Hyundai fob to lock/unlock/open the trunk; I can start with car locked or unlocked; and it stays running when I unlock or enter.
You can't move the running car unless the Hyundai fob is with you when you get in, so I think theft is not an issue.
Where does all the misinformation come from?
Anyways, there's a little more info for everyone.
Wish I'd finished this journey weeks ago, but maybe others can try the same path.
