  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Pics and Video of my 3.8 V6

Jason...

Love your Genesis...Its the best on here. Any updates on your suspension or ideas you are looking into ?

Thank you,

Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I really appreciate it!

I haven't really done anything else for some time now other than maybe my intake and I installed Megan coilovers to replace my previous Ark coilovers. Unfortunately I haven't found the ride to be much better. It's expected that the ride will be stiff and more harsh than stock, especially when running 20 inch wheels and tires but I've just not had good luck with mine. It's really fickle. One moment it seems pretty good and the other, it's lousy.

One thing that my suspension guy said to me was that my wheels and tires were really heavy compared to many. He thinks that the extra weight along with the more aggressive wheel offset may be a factor. He suggested I try going with some sort of forged wheel which is much lighter. I don't really feel like shelling out several thousands for a set of forged wheels just to see if it makes an difference so I think I will leave it as is. It's been somewhat of a love/hate relationship. There are days when I'm happy and it's seems great and there are days when I feel like putting it all back to stock.

I guess it's just part of the whole mod process, especially if you're an early adopter. When you start messing with things, you're bound to get bit once in a while. Overall though, I'm still happy with the car.

Thanks for the message!!!

Jason

Have you had any problems with the 30 series rear low profile tire? Like pothole, bent wheels, tires going out?

Looks great. Yours is the first Genesis with 20" wheels that I think looks good. I've seen others on here that just didn't look good to me, but yours pulls it all together very nicely. The smooth ride and the super quiet cabin are the two things I like most about my Genesis so these mods will never make it to my car, but I can definitely appreciate them on yours. Well done.
