  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Today I purchased a 2013 Genesis with 24K miles on it. So far, I'm extremely happy with the car and the deal (squeaked just under $20K).

The car in general is in great condition, much better than the other two used ones I test drove. Also, for some reason this car has the the perforated leather seats. I'm confused because the other two weren't perforated. Isn't this the upgraded leather from the better packages? It seems odd since the car I bought is a base model. Anyone know why it would be there?

not sure but i own a 13 base model. its just like yours. what years are the other 2 you drove?

Just because the seats are perforated, does not mean they are premium leather or that they are ventilated (active cool air blowing through them). I thought that all Genesis seats were perforated for all trim levels, even though some were supposedly an upgraded leather, and some were ventilated. Maybe the other non-perforated seats you saw were replacements?

I don't know. The other two were 13s as well. It's no big deal, I was just curious about the difference.

I wish I had ventilated seats! That was the one feature that almost got me to choose a new 14 Sonata Limited instead, but the Genesis was much nicer in every other respect of course.
