  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No local dealer

Not that it really matters but Volvo has a dealership there also.

Edit: And Acura

Maybe in time Genesis volume will warrant a dealership in Sioux Falls. BMW, Mercedes and Audi are there but they are more established brands (with no pickups) with volume that is sufficient for them.
Maybe. I've been a fan of Hyundai/Genesis for 5 cars in the past 13 years, but I'd not put my money into a dealership there just yet.

For those that are blaming Genesis, it is not their fault. Dealers are independent businesses and they are supported by sales. If you think it is a viable business, consider starting your own dealership. Do the market research but I'm not ready to invest there.

Yuma AZ Hyundai dealer performed oil change and I requested tire rotation ($10-not bad "every other oil change gets free tire rotation ). Had to return after noticing 3 bolts/fasteners missing from oil change door and under-carriage soundproofing, they reinstalled with no issues. Happy so far with car and dealership experience, but time will tell.

Maybe I'm a drama queen, but I would be livid about bolts missing. Attention to detail is key to good service imo

Maybe a quart low on oil, filter not tight, etc.

I'd have zero confidence in there workmanship. Is that what you'd expect if you were paying their labor rate, about $175/Hr in the Northeast?

That's "Shade Tree Mechanic" quality!

I bought a house so I talked to Genesis Customer Service and they claim I am the very first person with a 2019 in a state that does not have a dealer, so they will need to research what can be done. They are supposed to call me back on Monday.......

Thanks for the update, let us know how it turns out.

I heard back and what will happen is I will pay up front for maintenance service and then send in the receipt to get reimbursed.
I will visit the local Hyundai dealer next week to get a relationship going.
Not the best situation but I am ok with it.
Hopefully the continued extreme growth in this area will lead to a Genesis dealer in the next few years. :worthy:

Agree, I'm keeping a close eye and log of my complaints so I can take it up with dealership owner when needed.

Hey, I know this thread is a year old and maybe that will better answer my question. I also live in Boise and am seriously considering a G70 from Vancouver, WA. How has service been at the local Boise Hyundai dealership?

Anyone not have a local dealer?

I just picked up a 2019 G80 Sport, after having had a 2011 Genesis 4.6 and a 2016 Equus Ultimate, and will be moving to Boise ID (from Austin TX) for a great job.
The nearest Genesis dealer is in SLC UT......

I called the local Boise Hyundai dealer and they said they can service it, but no amenities such as Conceirge, I am bummed I called Genesis to ask about my free 3 years of maintenance service and they said I would need to escalate to National once I have an address there.

Anyone been through a similar situation and how was it handled?

Love the car can live without Valet but still disappointed.
I want to buy a Genesis and that is my question. What about service? i have had several Lexus models and am used to that kind of service. Any news about Boise service since you posted this.?
