When you say you had the entire audio system replaced, what exactly do you mean? Was it just the head unit?
I have had the exact same issues as you to the point where the car was exchanged for another, and the head unit was switched on both cars and the problems continued.
I was scheduled to have the head unit and amp replaced. When I went to get the car, the service guy said he didn't replace the amp because the one they were sent was so different from the one presently on the car, he thought it was a mistake. He told me he would call Hyundai about it.
My car malfuntioned again and when we called, he said it was stressed to him that both components must be replaced (amp and head unit), saying that the amp was not just an amp (whatever that means).
About 2 weeks ago I had the amp changed as well. So far, it's been working fine, and i'm cautiously optimistic.
I don't know if it's any consolation, but I'm sort of glad it's happening to more owners, not because I want them to experience my frustration, but then I know they'll come up with a solution. Plus...I began to wonder if they thought I was crazy because the intermittent nature of this problem meant it wasn't always malfuntioning when I brought the car in.
