  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not much love for the 2.0?

I do really like the G70 and i know the interior is much classier than the CTR. I like that both are unique and you don't see many of them on the road. I like how the CTR is a hatchback with plenty of room for hauling and storing. The trunk in the G70 is pretty small but if i can get a really good deal on a G70 i will go with that over the CTR. We'll see...
A lot of folks say the G70 trunk is small, maybe it is depending what your used to? When my Infiniti G37 got hit and totaled, I kept my trunk mat. It was in perfect shape and no need to give it to the insurance company. Length wise it fit perfectly in my G70, width wise close to the seat back the G70 is 3 to 4 inches wider, closer to the trunk latch end, maybe a couple of inches narrower than the Infiniti. Overall from what I was used to with my G37 the G70 trunk space is a wash to me.

I have looked at the Stinger but it seems to be selling much better than the G70. There aren't any 2019s in GT1 AWD on the market near me but a lot of 2019 G70s still on dealership lots. My guess is dealers wouldn't discount 2020 Stingers by much but I could be wrong.

If you're interested in the Stinger at all, I think it's worth driving and taking a close look at. When I test drove one, they were offering a little over 7k off MSRP! I've even seen some deals since then at almost 10k off MSRP - crazy deal! Even so, like you, I'm not sure what kind of deals they're offering right now...but, now is (arguably) the best time to buy, so maybe check one out! I really liked it. But I wanted the rear LSD, and I preferred the styling of the G70... But I've missed out on the rear seat space and hatchback.

I thought it was basically a known fact that you can negotiate $10k of a Stinger pretty easily. Especially this time of the year

My current daily driver is a 2006 Honda Accord. It has a huge trunk and a lot of space for backseat passengers. I have a 2003 MR-2 Spyder convertible as well but that has no trunk and just small cubby storage behind the two seats.

I had a G37 as well, the G70 interior was considerably smaller. I wanted to love it but I knew I'd be carrying 3-4 adults in it weekly and that just wouldn't work with the legroom. Went with the G80 instead, but the G70 is a fantastic car...

PLENTY of love over here for my 2.0 Dynamic!!!
As a recovering 'speedaholic', I purposely avoided even test driving the 3.3... and then factor in the MPG... 2.0T was a no-brainer for me. Although a slight lag depending on how you come off the line but this thing gets UP there and moves.
Now, I will admit... I finally drove the 3.3 last week as a loaner. annnnnd HOLY WTF!?! While it was a complete blast for a 'day', it confirmed my decision. The MPG was truly terrifying. Here in Dallas we drive ALOT! I'm already pushing 23k miles in only 9mnths. I'd be at the pump everyday. And then there's all that power.. which means I'd also spend more time than I would like with good ol' Mr. Sheriff. No thank you officer.
Overall, this is by far best car I've ever owned. This is car #10 for me and NO car I ever owned gets as much attention out around town as this beauty. My '03 350Z comes in second, but that attention didn't last this long as that car got pretty popular really fast, unlike the G70. I rarely see others on the road. But there's not a week goes by without someone stopping me to ask what kind of car is that or what color is that (siberian).
Looking forward to the 2.5 and the other vehicles in the Genesis pipeline. Seems like no other brand is going to ever come close to this much bang for my hard earned dollars.
And that just may make me a lifer.

This follows a lot of my logic when shopping for my G70, although the manual transmission drove my choice of engines as much as any other factor. Besides the fuel consumption and inconvenient meetings with Mr. Sheriff, there's another big downside to big power: tires. Having come from a powerful turbo 6 (and perhaps with some enjoyment of said turbo 6), I can tell you that replacing tires frequently is a bear. And that's without burnouts!

@ 23K I am currently shopping for replacements for the original summer tires... they're already done. going with all season performance this time around

Mine are practically new, just 4500 miles but when times come I will do the same, High Performance AS like the Michelin A/S 3 or Continental DWS06.

I considered a Stinger but just can't get past that huge Kia logo. Especially the steering wheel -

Yeah, that was one of my (minor) reasons for passing on it too.

Put me on that list too.
I was on the list but times are changing. I bet a K900 would fit in my garage. I thought the same of Hyundai in the past but then ended up with a series of them.

Times are definitely changing, but when you're dropping that much on a vehicle sometimes you don't want the logo in your face reminding you where it came from. Hence why so many Stinger owners opt for the alternate "K" logos on the exterior.

Nonetheless, the Korean brands are really bringing value to the table these days. I think an attempted rebrand of their logos/images will likely follow in the next 3-5 years

I have no idea whether H/G/K might attempt to rebrand in the realm of logos. I doubt that Hyundai or Genesis would do that. The former is so well established, and the latter so new. Kia does have an image problem, and it's not necessarily because of the quality they've achieved in recent years. In fact, I suspect that they're making progress toward reversing that perception. Still, the perception has a big effect on sales and profitability. I do think the Stinger, had it been the homerun Kia had hoped for, had an excellent chance at giving Kia its most substantial transformation in public perception. That's not to say the Stinger has been a failure but, due to the headwinds affecting sedan sales in general, along with other factors, I don't think the Stinger's sales have met Kia's expectations.

Like many of you, I'd have difficulty looking at (and showing off) a Kia badge. And I don't consider myself a brand snob. If I were, I would have opted for a BMW or Audi over my Genesis. That said, if Kia and its sibling brands continue to make the progress they've been making, it's a problem that I think will largely solve itself in time. It seems that the Hyundai brand is already there.

Yes, the K900 is one heck of a car for the money, HOWEVER they sold so few 2019’s that parts availability in case of accident is difficult. (Read it on the Internet, so it must be true). Four weeks ago, I saw a beautiful 2019 K900 at Mt local dealer. White with extra cost Brown interior and the VIP Pkg. MSRP was $64.xxx with an additional “Bump Up” sticker taking it up to $69.xxx.
I got crazy and called their Internet Dept to get an Internet price. Reminded them it’s a 2019 and it’s almost 2020. They called me back and gave me a “great” Internet price of $62,xxx. At first, I thought they meant 52 but no, they meant 62. I thanked them and hung up.

I'm definitely with you on the 2.0 vs 3.3 thought process. Can you tell me why you chose the Dyanmic trim vs the others? @krobin350

Hahaha! I agree that the MPG is terrifying. But for me, my Elsa (yes I named her Elsa) is way more fun to drive than the 2.0T loaner. It's great to see someone in Dallas also have a Siberian 3.3T like me (P.S. I'm also live in Dallas) ;)

Yes, that giant KIA logo on the steering wheel staring me in the face was a big turn off for me.

So, I’ll start off by saying I traded my BMW 428ix for a 2019 G70 2.0 AWD Sport in Casablanca White. I freakin love this car. I have every conceivable option on this car and it’s beautiful to boot. My BMW was sparse on options and there was no way I was going to buy another BMW and pay a ridiculous price for all the options I wanted.

That being said, am I the only one to have purchased the 2.0? My G70 has more hp than my BWM did, so it feels fast to me. I’ll admit, there’s a bit of a lag if you stomp on it from the line, but it’s fine for my needs. I actually find if you don’t stomp on it, but accelerate quickly the lags disappears.

Reading these forums and reviews, I can barely find any reviews for the 2.0. Am I the only one that loves my 2.0?
I love my g70 bro, had it for 2 weeks now I believe it’s the elite version and I all I want now Is more horsepower/torque and tint. Also some interior protection as I have a 2year old boy.
