  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not much love for the 2.0?

I love my g70 bro, had it for 2 weeks now I believe it’s the elite version and I all I want now Is more horsepower/torque and tint. Also some interior protection as I have a 2year old boy.
Not much out there for the 2.0 since the love is for the 3.3. But here you go: 2.0T - No response?

If you read the four pages of this thread, there are many who replied in favor of the 2.0. Only reason I didn't buy it is because the car is to small for me. Bought the 3.8 G80 instead.

A. I did read the thread
B. My reply wasn’t to you
C. I’m not insulting the 2.0 so slow down, I don’t care why you chose a G80 when I’m on a G70 forum trying to help a 2.0 G70 member

Looks like I hit a nerve there joeschneider, guess I misread your post. Sorry

Apologies for coming off strong. But this is the only car forum I’ve ever been on that another models owners hop on for constant commenting. Subaru Forester owners don’t hop onto the STI forums to give advice. Accord owners don’t hop onto the CTR sections etc. I get Genesis is a smaller company, but this is weird. So yea, I’m salty about that. Because more often than not, it causes confusion. Maybe it’s something I need to get used to, because it does hit my nerves. I know G80 and 90 owners are just trying to help, and it’s not nefarious

Obviously owning the G70 2.0 vs 3.3 happens at buy time, and I did go into the dealership to test drive and to buy the G70. The 2.0 was plenty for me, so I do feel qualified to comment on it. So while I cannot comment on G70 ownership experiences, I can comment on "love for the 2.0". Had the car been physically larger, I would have bought the 2.0. My comment to you, above, was based on my interpretation of "not much out there for the 2.0" as meaning there were few that liked that engine. Thanks for clarifying.

Its a Genesis forum that existed longer than the G70. There is a lot of commonality among the models. If I was doing a brake job on my Genesis and could not figure out how to do a step, I'd not turn away a Chevy tech walking down the street that could show me how to do it. People are commenting in the GV80 thread yet no one owns one yet. OTOH, many of here here are prospective buyers of any and all of the models, existing and future.

It's the way the entire forum works.. I read it all, because I know that if I were to read only the G80 subforum I'd miss out on a ton of important and useful info.
When you're reading the entire forum by selecting "New Posts", you don't even know which thread a post come from unless you search for the small print, and that's usually superfluous info.

I don't feel as strongly as you, but its definitely an annoyance when there's misinformation being spread. It'd be nice if people would check which subsection of the forum posts are in before commenting. Doubt it'll happen though

I agree, You are right. At least on the phone and iPad mobile app there is no easy was to check the subsection. You have to remember to scroll to the top of the page. It would be nice if it could show or remind you when you are posting. I just scroll through new posts and I suspect most people do that also.

I have a 2.0 and just got a 3.3 for my loaner. It's my first time driving the 3.3 and Oh. My. God. It's like a night and day difference between the two. I'm mind blown how fun driving the 3.3 is.

I like the 2.0 a lot -- and it is a terrific car, but I drove the 3.3 and just could not resist it. The car is amazing--both the 2.0 and 3.3.

Manual 2.0t here... thought I'd mention I'm able to slip the clutch to get the car off the line pretty quick (reading thru this thread people mentioned the 2.0t is slow off the line), but when I shift into 2nd I get that torque/power dip and the car kinda dies. I've revved the crap out of 1st gear to get into the power in 2nd gear and I'm able to almost bypass the that torque/power dip, but not quite. Haven't driven a 3.3T, mainly b/c they didn't have a RWD version at the dealership when I was looking (I don't want the added weight/complexity of the AWD system).

^ if only we had the option of RWD, 6MT, 3.3T...that would've been perfect

Maybe they don't have a manual transmission that can handle the added torque/hp of the 3.3TT? I'm assuming the manual in the G70 is related to the manual that was in the Genesis Coupe which had max torque of 295 ft/lbs vs 376 ft/lbs on the 3.3TT..

^ those numbers make sense from a stats point of view. but they are on the quick side of reported data. C&D just reported 6.4s 0-60.

these magazines don't test all on the same track or same day so there are a lot of different factors that come into play. I believe c&d doesn't even launch from the start and r&t does so does auto mobile mag.
