Anyone know where I can purchase oil filters for the 2012 3.6, wholesale ?

Great link. Does that come with the drain plug gasket?

Yes, comes with everything that the OEM comes with, even the same size box as OEM. Only difference is printing and label on box. The printing and label on the filter's end is same as Hyundai filter. ie its the same filter.

When I clicked on your link and entered 2012 Hyundai Genesis 4.6.on that page it changed and the following info appeared.
SEE INFO IN RED...I didn't check for any other years. They did show Fram and a Purolator filters on the "Search for similar parts that fit your vehicle".

Beck/Arnley Oil Filter
Part No. 041-0846 Warranty

Looks like Filters changed for 2012 direct injection engines.

I don't understand that. I had a 2009 3.8 and that filter is totally different from the 2012 filter on my 2012. The 2009 was a casing, the 2012 is a cartridge, much bigger !!

Hthe Genesis sedan has only used a cartridge filter. Did you change your own oil on the 2009? There are other threads showing how to change the oil and they show the cart. filter. http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/09/17/hyundai-genesis-2/

They are both cartridges. The OEM end caps have changed color from black to white, but that was starting before the 2012 model.

Fram
Part #: FFCH10515
Mfr #: CH10515

$6.44 each @ my local Walmart

This is for the 3.8 and 4.6 according to Fram's compatibility list.

I purchased my oil filter from my dealership a few weeks back for $10 and some change; the part number is 26320-3C30A. The Hyundai Genuine Parts branded box reads made in korea but the MAHLE branded oil filter reads made in austria. The markings on the oil filter are 26330-3C300 and OX 351. Definitely interesting.

From the best I can tell, Hyundai has switched filter suppliers from MANN-HUMMEL Dongwoo Co. Ltd (with black end caps) to MAHLE (with white end caps). The MAHLE filters are more expensive than the older MANN-HUMMEL ones. The MAHLE is specified for the 2012, but it "appears" that you can use either the MAHLE or the MANN-HUMMEL for a 2009-2011 Genesis.

Hyundai part for 3.8L engine: 26320-3C30A.

I'm sorry, but sorry, I will prob get skewered for this....there IS a reason why that filter is $6 on the shelf at Wal Mart. I'll use NAPA, WIX, Hyundai OEM or BA, but I simply will not stick a Walmart $6 Fram filter in a $45K car...LoL...I have the same attitude I take with my Suzuki motorcycle...Suzuki OEMs are great, but I only use NAPA Gold, Wix, K&N, etc as the materials and construction of the filter are of utmost significance to me. Same thing with our 2004 Envoy XUV. Now, in my 1990 Isuzu pickup, I do use FRAM prob more than 50% of the time, and the truck has 190K pluc miles on it. However, the oil frequency change is such that a 5 buck filter doesn't bother me all that much, I suppose. As I am still in my 'free oil changes' mode from the Hyundai dealer, I haven't had time yet to really evaluate the aftermarket filters for my Genny. I use K&N air filters on all vehicles (to include motorcycle) but do not see a K&N oil filter listed for my 2012 3.8L Genny.

The LAST 'cartridge' type oil filter I had to replace was on my 1967 Camaro RS....as I got tired of that mess, I bought a spin-on adapter for the '67 and then only had to buy the same filters for the 67 AND 68 convertible. Such is life. I'm not too old to 'change my spots', but I'd need some convincing that the Fram at Wallyworld is every bit as good as the OEM or BA filters... So convince me! :D

We went through this before on the cabin filter, but I am quite sure that there are only two filter manufacturers for the Genesis, and only because Hyundai switched suppliers. The $6 Fram filter at Walmart is the exact same filter as the older black Hyundai OEM filter. I recently purchased some Hyundai OEM filters online from a Hyundai dealer for $5.48, so $6 is about the right price.

The same is true of the Napa Gold, Wix, etc that are for the Genesis, except that it depends on whether you are talking about the old black filter, or the newer white one.

I realize that Fram, Wix, etc make many of their own filters, but not for the Genesis. If you think you have found a Fram, Wix, Napa, etc, oil filter that is different than the OEM oil filter (old one with black end caps, or newer one with white end caps) please post detailed pics for us so we see it.

Well, when the time comes, "I'll buy that for 6 dollars".... +10

I can see that with spin-ons, you can have many different applications, but the Genesis is pretty specific...so if we could get some clue as to the materials used in the filtration medium, I'll be 'sold' to to speak.
