  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Oil Change, 15,000 miles / 2 Years

The jugs of Mobil 1 are NOT 5 gallon--------------they are (maybe) 5 quart. In our area, I have only seen Mobil 1 in 1 gallon (4 quart) jugs. In either case, buy 2 and what you don't use, save for the next change. No big deal. Or buy one jug and enough 1 qt. containers to do the rest.

Or go to a place like Fleet Farm and buy cartons with 6 qt. containers.
In every Walmart I have been to, the jugs are 5 quarts, but I have not shopped in MN. Maybe you are too close to metric folks up north. Walmart also sells 1 quart containers, but the price savings on the larger jugs is quite nice. Costco usually sells Mobil 1 cartons of 6 quart-sized containers at a good price, although their selection is limited (no AFE or EP versions).

You leave an entire quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in your engine during your normal OCI? Oh no...please don't do that.

Do you have experience with this? Or does it just sound too far fetched w/out having experience? I can understand the latter as I'm still researching this product and its uses.

Use a good oil (there are many) and skip all the mouse-milk additives and "special" oils. Both your engine and your billfold will be better off.

mouse-milk additives? not exactly sure where that saying comes from as I've never heard it, but it kinda' sorta' makes sense (I guess) lol
