If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hey All -

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but, here goes - - I live in the Northeast, and am putting some hardcore snows on the Gen in about a month, on my stock 17" wheels, (which I do not like).

I am going to get some new wheels/tires in the spring, and swap winter/summer tires from here on out. I am really interested in the 19" Coupe wheels, I love the look of them.

And, I keep reading all the posts on putting the staggered 19" Coupe Track Pack wheels on the Gen sedan. But I come away with more confusion the more I read. I really want to do this, but am worried this may be a big hassle - - So, can I ask one..more..time:

• Can you easily put these wheels on the Gen sedan?
- what would you have to do to get these on?
• Is it recommended to keep the stagger or do you put all 19's around? Pros/ cons?

Can someone fill me in, like I was a 5 year old? :)

Thanks, guys!

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

The coupe wheels will fit without any problems. Just make sure you have the right sized tire for them.

Some people like the staggered set up. Personally, unless you are tracking the car, it is much more trouble than it is worth. You would no longer be able to perform a basic rotation and you would have 2 different sized tires.

Advantages are that you have more grip on the drive wheels and can take advantage of turns with more traction. IMHO, not a good trade off.

I would go with the coupe 19's all around and throw some nice sticky rubber on them and call it a day.

Hope this helps.

Thanks One Fun -

Appreciate it - next question :)

You mention "right sized tire" - any thing specific, size-wise, or is it a clearance issue? .....Wondering if someone has deduced the correct size tire that won't have any issues, rather than me throwing darts at tire rack sizes and hoping for the best! :)

Thanks!! Looking forward to doing this next spring. And actually looking forward to the snows, as I am getting in need of tires, (squirrelly even in rain) and having real snows will be refreshing!

Probably best to use same as R-Spec Sedan 19" tires, which is P235/45R19. This will give you very similar tire diameter as the stock tires.

The right tire size should be one that matches the diameter of the factory tire size as closely as possible, that way you can avoid large differences in speedo readings or odometer counts. It is also just better for your overall car to be close to the designed stress on the brakes and suspension.

I use this website --> http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator to get a general approximation on the right size. Just enter your model and then a few different 19" tire sizes and see which comes closest to the factory model. As you also mentioned Tire Rack, I've also had good luck with just calling them and asking for a recommended tire size for a larger rim to be close to the factory dimensions, they were very helpful.

I actually use 245/45/19 and those are pretty close too.

EDIT: My tire size is much closer to stock rolling diameter than 235/45 btw

You are correct. I wonder why the R-Spec Sedan uses 235's on their 19" wheels (according to Hyundai website)?

I asked, and I DID receive! :)

Thanks, guys - I really, really appreciate it - going to start amassing the Coupe wheels / tires this winter - then put em on nxt yr. - gonna check those sites too - thanks!!
