  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I want to paint my brake calipers so at least they match front to rear. Could never figure out what Hyundai was thinking when they zinc coat the rears and paint/coat the fronts in a dark gray?

I do not want the look to shout as in bright red although I am sure it would look good. Was thinking more a classy, same color as the car (Montecito Blue). What do you guys think or suggest?

Maybe charcoal metallic to match the wheels?

I think a gloss black would look good.

I would go with the Montecito Blue. It could only make your car go faster:D

I am leaning more and more towards Montecito Blue. Gonna need extra, extreme, super heat paint to be able to hold up with this color for sure. :D

i think the blue would look good also with some white lettering ... I'd like to paint mine but don't have the time.. keep us posted on what you use ...

thanks

I'd go with black or a dark grey like the oem finish. blue is going to be difficult to match and will not look very good IMO. the black or grey will be understated but will solve the issue of the calipers being different colors.

I painted the calipers on a 2002 Corvette I owned.
I used a brush, not a spray can. I think I applied 3 coats.
I used Rustoleum paint in one of the red shades, and it held up fine.

After mucho thought I will go same color as the wheels (charcoal with a touch of metal flake). Epoxy paint with a clear coat on top. When I do these I remove them entirely, sandblast/plug/mask and then paint in a spray booth. Holds up forever. Will post some pictures when done. Maybe this weekend, if not then the following.

You also have to bring in the garbage can immediately after it is picked up plus you can't park a truck in your driveway :D

you should never ever modify your car. if they wanted the calipers to be a certain color they would have done it at the factory.

+1

Idiots out there lowering their cars after the company spent backbreaking hours designing the suspension.

Now coloring brake calipers...when will it end!

+2.

Why are there so many clowns debadging their cars? What's the point of confusing other drivers?

If Hyundai wanted the wings on the Genesis they would've come like that from the factory. Everyone should just leave the flying H on.

I saw on the Internet too that people are tinting their windows. If Hyundai wanted them darker they would've tinted them at the factory.
