I can tell you guys from real world testing at the drag strip with my Toyota Avalon. 3.5 v6 with a lot of space around the intake, a lot less heat than the tao. I went from a K&N Typhoon intake, pretty much a short ram + heat shield, to a DC Sports True Cold air intake that put the filter in the lower bumper behind the fog light.
The car was .3 secs faster in the 1/4 mile with the DC Sports. Cold air matters, even when the car is moving. I switched because I downloaded the torque app and noticed my intake temps were 150°+ at idle. Very similar to the conditions when I'm staging right before a drag race.
