If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Performance bolt on headers group buy

I can tell you guys from real world testing at the drag strip with my Toyota Avalon. 3.5 v6 with a lot of space around the intake, a lot less heat than the tao. I went from a K&N Typhoon intake, pretty much a short ram + heat shield, to a DC Sports True Cold air intake that put the filter in the lower bumper behind the fog light.

The car was .3 secs faster in the 1/4 mile with the DC Sports. Cold air matters, even when the car is moving. I switched because I downloaded the torque app and noticed my intake temps were 150°+ at idle. Very similar to the conditions when I'm staging right before a drag race.

Yeah but see the difference there is its buried behind the fog lights down where its cooler. The abel racing intake sits right at the top of the engine bay by the hood where it soaks all the heat in

weight matters too did you guys remove your spare tire and front rear bumper absorber's ?

idk but numbers don't lie and to each his own. all i can say from my personal experience with the intake my car feel feels much stronger all through out the power band. and i actually raced a fellow Rspec owner when i first installed and i was able to pull away.

I installed the SXTH intake as well, along with sounding great at WOT it does seem to pull a little better but can't confirm unless I were to do back to back runs stock intake vs. SXTH. Air temperature is only one piece of the puzzle. Replacing the factory intake tube with a smooth tube will certainly have a positive effect on air turbulence and flow especially on an N/A engine. As far as headers go to kind of bring this back on topic, a set that is designed properly can potentially lower combustion chamber temperatures by scavenging the exhaust gasses out, certainly a lot more than any cold air intake will. The only thing the factory manifolds could potentially be good for is a turbocharged application but I doubt we will ever see anyone give that a real shot due to the tuning situation we have.

I actually have plans to replace the stock intake ducts. But istead of running to 2 cone filters in the engine bay, the ducts will run to the stock air boxes so that the car still gets cold air. I image this engine will sound amazing with a freed up intake. Saved all of the parts I need on Amazon. Came out to about $300. Just waiting to do the exhaust first.

I think a lot of people will be disappointed with headers on the 15-16 v8 without a tuning solution to make good use of then. Headers is a bolt-on that you can't just bolt on. Without a tune we would lose power down low,and have minimum gains up top.

BTR has options for header setups when you order their tune so that should be fine. I'm no expert on tuning but I would imagine you can run more aggressive timing with headers. With that being said a set of shorty or mid length headers have many of the same benefits to a lesser degree and are also cheaper and easier to install. Just ask any Coyote Mustang owner with long tubes on the amount of work it requires to install.

According to their website, BTR doesn't offer a tune for the 2015-2016 5.0 V8. Just the V6.

For those headers to be effective, we'd need a tune that can alter the valve and ignition timing.

Ah, I didn't look close enough. Well at least the G1 guys can get the tune. I'm sure they'll get the G2 sorted in due time.

I don't think it's a matter of who can make headers, it's a matter of who is willing to spend the money to have a set made and able to have their car down for however long it takes to fabricate them.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have been floating the idea around my head with getting the 3.8L Coupe headers to put on my Sedan(same motor) The gaskets are the same exact size I just don’t know about clearance even though my mechanic said we can fabricate custom pipping but I’d like to look under both cars too see first but I’m soooooo curious 😬

What is the status on the headers for the 5.0?

What is the status on the headers f8or the 5.

I know Kooks headers said the don't make headers for are cars but would make them like a custom deal but would need a order of 50 before they would do it. I wrote on hear before and I ready to but a set just need 49 more people. I don't know what the cost would be.

IM IN !

We need 50 people or it won't happen.
I know a guy that would port the exhausts manifolds but with the cat built in I don't know if that would work. Was going to buy some used low miles exhaust manifolds and send them to him, but used manifolds cost too much. The exhaust on the newer models look more like headers may flow better should fit my 2013 5.0 but don't know. I would used my car if we can find a place to make headers.

hey guys
i bought a 2012 5.0 R-spec sedan 3 weeks ago and after driving it silently for weeks, went to my header shop to see what they could do about the silence.

this is a high end all american company, which is used by multiple OEM performance companies for their race exhausts.
i wont say the name of the company yet, as per request of the owner. but the VIPER ACR program uses their headers from the factory.

they are located on long island and all work and development will be in house and the work ive seen and had done here has been outstanding.

the owner saw my new car and was very excited, he has been interested in building a high performance header for the TAU for a while now, and this is his chance.

we need to get interest and pre-orders and i'll give up my car to him for a month to develop and manufacture the headers.

again this is a feeler post please let me know how many of you guys want bolt on performance headers and possibly a full engine back exhaust made for the car.

this is one of their existing ACTUAL products that i am trying to get them to develop for us. []-)
I just sent a email to GPHEADERS INC. there website say they make custom headers including imports with v8's one at a time or short orders waiting for a reply the company is in Minnesota.
