  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

#4 is what Im leaning towards.

To me, they all look pretty ridiculous but it's your car - so go with what you like. However, I can't imagine how bad your car will ride on anything but a freshly paved road with those crazy low profile tires...

Wheels like this look ridiculous on any sedan. Please don'y disfigure a Genesis.

I think #4 would be my choice too....but, I wouldn't go bigger than 19 or 20's.

What are you going for? Do you want to draw attention to the wheels, or do you just like the big rims? That is not my taste, but #1 and #2 pull in the color of the car to the wheel which gives it some continuity.

I agree that the ride will suffer with 22 inch rims. Did you do this with your Equus?

All of them look like they belong on an 86 Chevy.

I've seen Merc's and Bimmer's with big rims. As I said, it's not for me, but can we at least provide constructive observations to a noob?

Donkesis.

I agree anything larger that 20" is a bit much. That said, it's your car and your money, so do what you like. Ultimately, it's about what makes you happy.

I like #3, especially if you can get the super concave in the rear set.
A little advice from experience - do your research and buy quality wheels, not just a 'name'. Don't rush. Products like Lexani, DUB and others may be a big name, but are garbage product.

I agree that 22's do look a bit large, 20's and a nice drop is the direction I would go in. Also feel that the genesis is a big car and the face of the wheel needs to have a lot of meat to it, helps balance out the car. Rims with small spokes and low number of spokes don't fit in my opinion. With that said it is your car, buy whatever wheels you want for it. Have you looked at trying to get a partial sponsorship for the 2015 season? Since you have a new Genesis you could possibly get a significant discount with some of the 3 piece wheel brands. Avant Garde, VIP Modular, Rotiform etc.

Nice photoshopping skills by the way.

Like others, oversized rims are not my thing but if I was held at gunpoint I would go with #4 but all of them scream Impala.

My vote is #4 or #1 on 20s

As soon a I saw your post I knew the "donk" patrol was going to come out. IMO, #4 looks the best. I'm super curious to the tire dimensions. I have 22's on my genesis but not a staggered set up. I'm seriously considering removing the rears and getting 22x10 with 275/25zr22. I feel it needs more width in the rear. Currently I have a square set up with 22x9 and 245/30zr22.

The ride is different but not as bad as people claim it will be. The genesis is a BIG car. IMO, larger wheels balance things out. If you get anything right on the wheels, get the correct offset. Can't tell you how much I cringe when seeing too big or too little of an offset. Post some pictures when it's done!!

Plus sizing wheels...oh the debate continues.
Typically when you go beyond #2 (19" to 21" in our case) they start to look out of place.

7-series can go 22" because most have OEM 20s.
In our case you're going +3 which almost always looks silly.
And without a corresponding suspension drop it looks even more pronounced.
