  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Popped headrests! How to reset?

My Drivers side headrest popped for no apparent reason. I tried to rest using the information on this forum...No luck.
I noticed many broken plastic parts on the inside. I have since gutted the headrest so that the two halves go back together.
I used velcro to keep them together. I have moved the headrest to the passenger side until I can find a replacement.

Please also send to me - happened Sat night I barely bumped something - I also did not know that would even happen - I guess better than an airbag in the face! greeneyednh777@yahoo.com. Thanks!

A guy “tapped” me in the back at a traffic light and both headrests popped. When I removed them to inspect, I too found a bunch of broken plastic inside, including the tabs that apparently hold them together.
Guessing there was no way to put them back together, I called the dealership and was quoted $1800.00 to replace both.
After I came to, I gutted each and bought a bottle of Gorilla Glue.
Good as new, right? Wrong! I was looking at a G70 last week and disclosed the headrest issue. They immediately knocked $3000.00 off the trade which was unacceptable. So, needless to say, I’m still driving a otherwise pristine ‘13 Rspec 5.0.

That PDF link didn’t work for me. Maybe I just don’t know how to open it. I’ve done it before though.

A car ran into my back bumper the other day and since then, my headrests are both popped. I have tried to push them back in with the 2 rods in the headrest, but on accident, I pushed the metal hook where the main rod goes in and I can’t move the hook no more. I know that when I moved that hook, it clicked, and I also know that when I’m supposed to push the headrest back in, it’s supposed to click when it’s back in place. I’m now wondering if that’s the click that was supposed to be heard. I don’t know if I need to re-activate the headrest pop somehow so the hooks resets and lets me fix my headrest or the hook is supposed to be like that and I’m not pushing down hard enough. The hook is almost looking completely down. Please help :(
Will I have to take it to a shop to get them back down
