  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So you inquiring if a dealer might take on a used car from another dealer and maybe make it a CPO car if not already? I’ve heard of dealer trades on new vehicles, but not on used ones before? Dealers can arrange shipment to you I would assume if you did not want the drive hassle or your local dealer does not want to help with this. I’d be afraid of taking on a used car site unseen though.
I was thinking specifically of a Genesis CPO G70; so theoretically both dealerships would be familiar with the certification protocols and there would be a level of comfort there.

For example, you have two Genesis dealerships. The customer is living in Arlington VA and goes to his local dealer asking about a car that he's seen on line at a Genesis dealership in Austin, Texas. The automobile in Austin is a CPO G70 that has passed through the Genesis CPO program. The question is would the dealer in Arlington be comfortable accepting the automobile from Austin knowing that the vehicle had passed through Genesis' own CPO requirements.

2021 G70 3.3T Sport AWD
$54,500 MSRP - $50,450 listed after dealer discounts and got another $3450k off after some negotiating for total purchase of $47k

Live in Colorado and bought it in Oklahoma. Spent ~$100 on a flight, ~$90 in gas and ~$20 in food on the trip. Best Price in Colorado I could get was $51,XXX

It still amazes me that people don't expand their searches for cars outside of a 100-200 mile range.

I'd imagine the dealer in VA would want a hefty non-refundable deposit to transfer the car from Austin and youd have little wiggle room on the price.

When i was buying mine, local dealers would transfer a new one from a dealer out of state, but wanted a $1500 deposit and wasnt going to budge on the price.

I was looking at a car in Colorado Springs, the dealership web site mentioned an "out of state adjustment $2500," any mention to you?

best price i could get in C Springs was 52ish after the genesis incentives and they didnt have the colors i wanted so I didnt go much further with them. they also said they have a high demand for the 3.3 sports so they arent giving many deals.

Cars in Colorado are usually more expensive though.

Yes, I figured that would part of the ultimate dispensation.

My idea-and it's probably flawed-would be to negotiate the price down with the out of state dealer first, then go to my local dealer and get the transfer done. Once I'm happy with the price and condition of the automobile I could not care less about the deposit.

im not sure if it would work that way.

from what ive had other dealers tell me (not genesis) is they pay the other dealership for the car so any deal worked out with the other dealer wouldnt carry over.

if its not too far, could just go pick it up or pay a transport company.

Also in Colorado and will be looking to get the refreshed model. What dealership was that and how did you find the process?

Forgive me, but when you say "total purchase price" are you including tax/tags/etc? Or put another way, was 47k your out the door price?

not including tax and tags

I'm wondering if there's a deal to be had on some of these high-level trims that are sitting on the lots as the 2022 refresh's are en route.

So who's actually bought one? If you arw willing to share, wed probably love to hear your purchase details or lease terms.
I just bought mine. As a Genesis GXM I got a great deal as an employee. I purchased the G70 2.0T Prestige in Mallorca Blue. $45,000 MSRP. I paid $35,000 + Tax, License and Registration.

therican,

Where are you located? I am picking up a G70 this weekend and looking to sell my Stinger GT2 if you are interested?

2020 Stinger GT2 3.3TT AWD
Miles: 3500
Ceramic Silver
Red Napa Interior

I'm going to AK to pick up the G70 and driving back to Colorado
Sorry about the late reply, would have DM'd if I could.
That stinger is/was still pretty new, why are you looking to sell it?
Really just wondering because I'm cross shopping the two and I'm stuck at a crossroads because I love things about both of them. Ceramic Silver/Red looks pretty nice too imo.

I just purchased a new 2021 G70 3.3T. It had 2,000 miles on it, as the owner drove it as a demo for a few months. It was never titled, so was sold as new to me with full warranty and 3 year included maintenance. MSRP was $47,*** and got it for $41,**** plus TTL. It was the only 2021 3.3T I could find in the San Diego area. Loving it so far! A couple pics after I had the windows tinted yesterday.

Did you check Genesis of Kearny Mesa? We had 3.3T until the last few days. The G70 had gotten hot. Have the new 2022 in stock now too
