  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

I just got an "eprice" (internet inquiry) offer from this dealership on a 3.3 Sport (Mallorca Blue with Black/Gray). MSRP $51,560. Offer price from dealer $46,432. Nearly 10% under MSRP - not bad from what others have shared to date. According the the dealer, the car has 2,215 miles on it. Meaning this car was a most likely dealer demo / hey-let's-take-it-for-a-spin loaner. I personally don't mind as long as I'm getting a good deal as the warranty is same as new, but my main concern is that I have no idea how the car was driven those 2,200 miles. The chances that the dealer actually followed the recommended 800 mile engine break-in period is probably zero, right? So long term I would be concerned those initial 2,200 miles, not being under the consideration of an owner, might impact long term reliability. And I don't want to have an engine issue down the road and the Genesis denies a warranty claim because of "misuse" or "failure to follow factory recommended break in" or the equivalent.

I'd be ready to move on this car this weekend at this price, but I'm leaving to Japan tomorrow and not back until the weekend after next, so if anyone is looking for a good deal on a new Genesis in Chicagoland in the next two weeks, this offer and this dealer might be worth checking out!

Thoughts anyone?
If leasing...who cares. If buying...you know the piss has been driven out of it ;)

^ yup, assume the worst. i know how i treat demo vehicles, and most folks buying a performance oriented car would do the same thing. otherwise, why spend the premium for all that performance potential?

The drive train still has the 10 year warranty. But there could be issues from the car being pushed that fall between no problems and catastrophic failure that the warranty doesn't cover. I'm not 100 percent sure how the warranties work. Maybe you could try negotiating 1-2k more off?

Theres no reason to get worried about the first 2k. Most engines are actually broken in already by the time the car gets to the lot. The reason for the breakin period is for the brakes and tires to wear in properly and for you to get used to the way the car performs. Plus, your lease starts at the mileage that came on it, not at 0, so you are not responsible for the previous mileage. You would probably however still be responsible for bringing the car in at its scheduled maintenance period 2k miles sooner.

Otherwise, if the car is in good shape and theres no visible wear, dont sweat it just get it.

I am not sure if this is the same in the US but I was told cars used for test drives have been preregister therefore are considered used and aren't eligible for lease. I was quite tempted by some of the deals on the Dynamic 3.3T but not being able to lease was a dealbreaker. I would make sure you can lease a tester before getting committed.

Not in US. A car can be in the dealership inventory as a service loaner for a certain period of time/miles and still be sold as a "new" car, which means it still has new car warranty and eligible for new car financing rates (i.e. subvented rates for purchase or lease from the OEM finance company). Yes, you should expect a greater discount than an equivalent car that was never a service loaner or the "go-to test driver".

In most, of not all, cases here the cars used for demo/manager cars are not registered and just use the dealer plates. Because of that they are eligible to be sold as new with the new car warranty.

Roger that. Wasn't sure how uniform it is between Canada and the US. Thanks for the info.

Nice! Very similar to me. Circle pricing A-plan gets you this. RWD will be cheaper as it has a lower invoice price, but even so it sounds like zskyez got a slightly different (ie better) circle plan than us.

Even so, I'm with you. I was ready to pay 50k for everything out the door, but I ended up paying just a little over 48k, as Oregon has a negligible new car tax, and going with the dealer's financing gave me a little discount on top of it all. I'm planning on transferring my balance to my own bank to get the APR even lower and ease of payments. Car is worth every penny to me!

My only wish is that comfort mode would be a little softer and exaust a little louder or mode adjustable. Oh well. Dont walnut to lower afraid it will get stiffer.

Hey guys, I am helping my mother purchase a new car. We drove the G70 on Friday and it was great. The dealer said her trade in is NOT on the conquest list but do not believe them. Does anyone have the list. Her car is a Mx35 infiniti

As mentioned, Infiniti is on the list. Here is a link to the sheet that was sent to dealers last fall that lists all of the makes that are eligible.

Genesis Competitive owner Coupon

Edit: Your Mom does not have to trade the car in order to get the incentive, just have an active registration. It would probably be worthwhile for her to check with CarMax, Vroom, etc. to see what they will offer for it.

thanks guys. The dealer said it was NOT on the list but thought it would be. Not sure if they lied to keep the 1000 or just did not know. Yep, did the car max think already, but thanks. This is the deal I am think of offering the dealership...please let me know if you think is fair....

G70 2.2 awd is 36900

so price of car is 41900 but lets say 42000
add a 500 doc fee (they want 700) so 42500 now
take 1000 of MSRP and another thousand for conquest so 2000 off
so now at 40500
take 9000 off for trade in - kbb says 10500 and CarMax says 9000 so giving them CarMax price

total cost minus tax 31500

Go for $2k off MSRP...more. Give yourself a good buffer for negotiations.

Looks like you're missing the $995 destination charge, standard on all Genesis.
MSRP for G70 2.0 AWD Elite is $41,900 + $995 = $42,895
