  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

Seems like over the last few pages a few members posted about some awesome deals on 2020 3.3T AWD's: @G70-driver , @Wonkeun , @pulsar , @G-462201 (among others). If any of you (or others) are willing, I'd love to hear more details about your purchases like whether they were purchased or leased, what incentives you got, your approach to negotiating, was any sort of discount pricing applied like Circle A/Costco/other, or anything else you're willing to share. I've spoken to a number of dealers now looking at a 3.3t sport AWD (2020 and 2021) and the best I've been able to muster to date is:
  • 2020 lease - $49954-$3721 lease cash and 0.00071 MF (I have circle A pricing but there is $5500 lease cash which they're clearly not giving me and the low MF should be 0.00022 according to Edmunds)
  • 2021 lease - $49800-$2000 lease cash (No circle A pricing yet on 2021s and I believe there is only 2000 lease cash - honestly this isn't a bad deal but it doesn't scream "buy" to me).
I've been going the lease route because it looks like those incentives are better to me than purchase, but I'd be happy to lease or purchase for the better deal.

Any input or experiences are appreciated.
At the time of my 2020 purchase of a 3.3 sport RWD, there were several incentives, competitive owner (G37s) and lease cash I’m thinking. It was about $5k or so total. With circle A that was another $3100 or so off. Vehicle went from $51,700 to around $43373 before taxes and normal dealer fees. No negotiation was needed to get to that number with Genesis of Dallas ordering what I wanted months earlier with no deposit required and 2020’s had only been hitting showrooms 6 weeks or so before I purchased. I was happy with the number from a dealer who treated me right. I leased for 30 days with a balloon payment at the end so just like paying cash basically except I got the lease incentives. Paid no lease fees at all. My dealer knew how to make this work somehow? I paid taxes, VIT and nominal dealer fees all up front. At the end of 30 days I wired Genesis the balance due and they sent me the title. The numbers all added up. My back up plan was to have gone thru Costco for I had several dealers who had already emailed me prior with numbers wanting me to take from dealer stock on 2019s. Never used that path or tried to get my local dealers competing against each other for I wanted a 2020 that did not yet exist on dealers lots. Good luck with your purchase.

I'm looking at something very similar, but really want a 3.3t sport - what trim level was yours? Did you have any special pricing or other incentives applied? Also do you mind me asking what dealer this was? Would it be possible to post a picture of your sale sheet? I'm in western PA but looking around if I can find a good deal.

I'll be picking up tomorrow a 3.3T AWD Standard. It has a few accessories that pushed the sticker pirce to $50,290. No special incentives as I jumped for the 0.9% for 60 months financing that Hyundai is offering with them on the 2021. Otherwise there isn't anything that I am aware of that is being offered currently on them. I also needed a car since mine was totaled so I didn't have the luxury of waiting. I'm getting it from Genesis of Cherry Hill. It probably helped that my dad has a 2011 Genesis which he got from their Hyundai side there as well. I basically told them I'd pay the lease price they had listed with that incentives for the car on their sheet when I was there talking to them after the test drive.

Hello
I purchased a used 2017 G80, ultimate trim, with mud guards in late Sept 2020 in the Los Angeles area. Patagonia Blue exterior and beige interior. 54k miles. Purchased at Hyundai dealer that had leased this car out (Genesis portion later moved to a separate dealership under same owner). One issue from pre purchase car inspection was resolved. Car was in wonderful shape, just a few interior stains that should detail out. Beige, so every bit of dirt or small stain shows inside. (oh well) 25k purchase price before taxes (high) and being in CA fees were low . Paid cash. There was an accident reported on the carfax, and pre purch inspection noted repairs to rear bumper and i was satisfied with the repair. Dealer offered 3rd party warranty plan for 4k !! (yikes), I passed. Looking nationwide 25K was a very good price for a creme-puff quality car during COVID. I think (cannot be certain) that given the age of the car and the mileage that prices are up 5-10% from pre covid equivalent. I had looked at another 2017 G80 car twice (in body shop for repair the first time). It had 20k lower mileage but was 3+k more, including much higher fees (not in CA). Typical prices were about 2-4k higher, although I only saw these other cars online. Prices for 2015 Genesis, ultimate trim were 19.5K + and for 2016s 20, 22 + with fees (300 -2500 (MD) !!). I only looked at one non Ultimate trim, and I passed due to lack of options that I wanted.
Had a wonderful drive East after purchase. Great car and it was great seeing Lake Havasu, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Santa Fe, and Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo.
Cheers
From NOLA with love

Great thread, glad I found this. I'm looking at a "new" G70 3.3T AWD Sport, Apparently the dealership manager had been driving this car, he put 3,500 miles on it in 4 months. The dealers final price is $44,184 + taxes, title and plates. The car has never been titled, so it would be new to me, but has 3,500 miles applied against the warranty. This is not a CPO, they're selling it as a brand new car.

MSRP is $53,590, There is a $5,300 discount right off the top from Genesis (interesting that most of the cars on the lot had this same discount), then $2,500 because I'm coming from a BMW, then another $1,500 because I'm getting a loan through them. If my math is right, that comes to $44,290, so I'm close. I think all of these discounts are from Genesis as the manufacturer. The dealer won't budge even though it already has 3,500 miles on it. Any thoughts out there?

If you choose to lease the bonus lease cash appears to be ~5000$, maybe more. I thought I would buy but the lease cash made a big difference. I can buy out of lease anytime. Check here for best information.:

I put too many miles on my cars to make a lease make sense.

As I said, and as others here have done, a leasee may buy out the car at any time after lease inception and make it a purchase so miles are not an issue.
See post 1774 and there are others further back in this long thread. Take the money, though some prefer the sense of ownership or have other considerations that supersede the financial calculations. Lease money factor appears to be equivalent to interest of ~0.5%.
(Money factor (MF) X 2400=interest.)

I found one in a similar situation with around 2,400 miles on it and same sort of story where they wouldn't really budge much on the price.

Seems to me, if the dealer was driving it to and from work, getting groceries, whatever, those are real miles that should depreciate the car. Plus, the warranty already started and it's been used for 5% of the miles (3,500/60,000) for the bumper to bumper. The car has been in service for 10 months now, getting close to 20% of the time left. The old saying goes, the car depreciates 25% when you drive it off the lot. Going to tell the dealer that I'm not paying for his depreciation, and the car needs to be discounted at least another $5K to make this a fair deal.

Thanks to all for your comments and thoughts. I was NOT successful getting the dealer to move off their price. As it turns out, the car I was looking at is a corporate buy back. There are several potential explanations for this, I'm not going to speculate as to why the car was returned.

A friend recommended I check with the Better Business Bureau as well as a few other organizations that rate car dealers. There I saw it, an average of 1 star out of 5. The comments ranged from the dealer selling cars that were returned under the lemon law, charging for repairs while under warranty, poor customer service, and several stories about some very ugly behavior by sales people and management. Then I looked at 10 other Genesis/Hyundai dealers in the area. The best dealer had a rating of 3.8, all of the rest were either a 1 star or something under a 2 star.

Sorry, I'm done with Hyundai. I really like the G70, it's a great car. I won't be a customer to a dealer with such a long history or treating people so poorly. Best of luck to you all.

what's with this Puente Hills place? not even a Genesis dealer
They have an endless supply of very low mile 3.3's always red, usually cream interior. Bought one of these- 75 miles for $37,000 6 months ago and they have had 2 more since. Are these still those golf tournament promotionals?

I finally get to post here!

After lurking since early August, I finally pulled the trigger this weekend. 2020 3.3T Sport AWD in Havana Red with the Black/Red Stitching interior. MSRP was $53,245 and after negotiating and getting employee pricing, my purchase price was $41,129 before taxes/fees/cash down. This dealer was amazing to work with, no BS. I'd been shopping nationwide to get a good deal, as I was willing to travel to pick up the car and finally decided on a dealer in Maryland (I'm in NC).

That's a great price for a purchase. When you say employee pricing are you talking Circle A or something else? Do you mind sharing what dealer that was?

That’s a good price for a new 2020 sport I assume. Sounds like you have sport stitching same as what I have. Enjoy and welcome.

Yep! Forgot to put that in the original post. I've edited it now. And thanks!

Is circle O something you qualified for or did they give it to you?

They just gave it to me. I asked why, and he said they hadn’t used it a lot this year due to Covid so they pulled some strings and got me the deal. I don’t know any more than that, but I made sure to get everything in writing before I drove up.
