  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

5,790 miles and one oil change. Looking forward to changing the winter tires for summer tires.

This is my list at 5.5K

1) Oil Change (normal)
2) Seal Break in Sunroof between the two window panes that split front partition to rear (previous thread - check out steering wheel thread)
3) Closing hesitation of sunroof
4) Software Update (Xm radio hiccups)
5) Snow Tires to All Season (normal)
6) Recall Issue

At 1K, I had my car serviced for a faulty Air Bag Sensor

Just dropped car off on Friday. The Seal Issue might be a big issue, as they gave me a rental car and said maybe Wednesday...

Love the car, hate the little service issues. Really worried about that Sunroof Seal issue... Would suggest others look for this as I only noticed it because another Owner mentioned it in a previous post just last week!

Last week she hit 13k miles. Normal oil changes for me only so far.

Do you guys do your oil change prior to hitting 7.5k because of harsh conditions or what?

I always do the 1st oil change at 1500 miles or less.....

Many do under the theory that the new engine will deposit break-in wear metals in the oil during the initial miles. An early oil chance will remove these filings that may have ended up in the oil. The topic is widely debated as to its usefulness.

Surprised at the lack of folks posting up in this thread.

495 miles, 5.0 Ultimate:

Oil on garage floor, took it in to dealer. Broken crank shaft seal, have to order the part in. Not a happy camper here.

Anyone else have this issue?

What is your Build date?

I have a 5.0 with just over 8K miles on it. One oil change to date. All is well.

Build date I believe was Nov 21, 2014. Car is still at dealer so will have to confirm.

Did your car have minimal miles on it when you purchased it (15-20 miles) or was it road hard by some salesman?

It had 18 miles on it when I drove it away from the dealer. I babied it until 400 miles or so, nothing too extreme though.

2500 no issues Break in oil at 2000. I would follow your owners manual to a T on the EXTREME Conditions. Look at the conditions there is NO PLACE ON EARTH that they will not occur. By not following the Extreme Conditions you are giving Hyundai/Kia an out for coverage. Just my experience here in California with the Hyundai/Kia dealerships.

3500 miles. 1 oil change at 3000. extreme use schedule because my wife drives it 3 miles a day for work and back. short drive time and many cold starts.

rear view mirror was loose when we got it....they fixed it before we drove it off the lot.

about to go in for sunroof seal pealing and possible loose steering wheel.

mine was the dealership owner's car, had 893 miles when I bought it. It was his from the beginning as it was their first 5.0 ltr. no idea how he treated it, but from what I was told it was washed regularly and babied. idk though.

Current odometer 3600 miles (lots of highway trips). I've had a problem with the bluetooth in my car since delivery (waiting on replacement radio now). I also had my oil changed to full synthetic at ~900 miles.

16,672 miles...all manufacturer services done as prescribed. No issues.

Yes.

I had few drops of oil at 500 miles and they said it was the front crank seal. They had to order the part and since then, it hasn't leaked one drop....nothing. I'm keeping a close eye on it but I'm not about to let them tear into the engine unless absolutely necessary.

How did your seal repair workout?

It is going in tomorrow for the tire replacement recall.

MY2015 v8 (July 2014 build); bought May 2015.
8K miles
One oil change.
No issues (fingers firmly crossed)

Car now has 9k miles, no issues with oil leaks since the fix. My touchscreen will act up about once a month, but always fixes itself upon shutdown/startup.

Mine was built July 2014. The only issue i have had is the driver's seat needed reprogramming.
