  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know some of you have dash cams in their Genesis. How did you get power to them?

Thanks

I don't have any from the install, it was so long ago I don't remember. I was installing the dashcam, hardwiring my Valentine one, and the laser jammers all at the same time.

Unplug the molex connector under the small removable panel above the rear-view mirror assembly. If I remember correctly, the black wire and one of the gray wires are your ground and switched power lead (turns on when the car is running, off when it's not). Looking at the plug-end of the molex connector, I believe these are the lower middle hole and the far left hole. Double-check with a voltmeter to be sure. This worked perfectly for my radar detector.
