  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Prada headlights

After the dealer reprograms it, ask them if they can show you if all of the AFLS functions can be manually activated using their scanner like the pictures I posted in the previous posts and video below. For peace of mind...

206rspec, any update on the programming? How did everything go? Curious to find out if everything worked out okay.

I think an hour labor between 55 and 75 dollars.

I can't speak for the dealer but I don't recall the last time I visited a shop with labor rates below $85 per hour and that was on the cheap end.

I headed out to Vegas for SEMA didn't have any time till I get back. dmitriylm i don't think its an hour labor probably half hour just what my tech told me i called.

installed the ecu today what a pain in the ass lol. Hopefully i can get it programmed this week!

All programmed, dealer had no idea what i was talking about or how to do it but i talked them through it lol. I got to see a few functions, but not all of them. I appreciate all of the help and advice, these lights are well worth the money spent!

I'm glad you were able to get it reprogrammed.
How bad was the damage on the reprogram?

I bought the led computer for the Prada lights. Basically if you add new lights or edu they have to be programmed to the car so they function. They charged me an hour labor but gave me a deal about 75.

I read through the thread and I wonder if the AFLS ECU in my 2011 4.6 will recognize the LED system or will I need to upgrade the module with the korean one. Anyone tried this with a US AFLS ECU?

I would be surprised if you didn't have to replace it.

I have not tried it myself because I did not want to mess up the AFLS ECU I had just in case I have to go back to the original HID headlights(ex. accidents, selling the car, etc.)

However, according to all threads related about prada headlight install on korean genesis forum(Genesisclub.or.kr), you have to replace HID AFLS ECU with LED AFLS ECU.

My guess would be that the signal that is sent to control the motor on the HID projectors to left & right is different from the signal that is sent to control the brightness of the LED, which is why you would need a new ECU with different hardware and software inside.

But I gotta agree with you that it will nice to save some money and not buy the new ECU.

Received today, installed in my Genesis 2009 with prada headlights...and scanner does not recognize new ECU. With original ECU autoleveling is workig, with new one doesn’t(

I have done this to my car and I can tell you that if you already have AFLS then you don't need to repin anything.
If you want to enable the AFLS function, then you will need a new AFLS ECU that supports the LED headlights then go to Hyundai dealer and have them reprogram the ECU. I luckily have a friend who's a tech at a Hyundai dealer who hooked me up with the programming.

Here is the LED AFLS ECU part number that you need: 92170 3M600.
Here is the website where I bought it from: http://www.tendown.co.kr/front/php/product.php?product_no=4870&main_cate_no=107&display_group=1

I don't know where else you could get this from because the LED headlights were only available in Korea from what I know.

Here are couple photos my friend & I took showing different modes of LED AFLS in the dark:

Normal City Driving Mode(If AFLS is not activated then your headlight will be always in this mode):

Highway Driving Mode ~60mph+ (LED intensity increased): notice how traffic signs are lit up brigther at the end of the road

Highway Driving Mode 80mph+ (LED intensity increased + projector angle increased): notice how you can see more of the road divider markings
Highway%202%20-%20More%20light%20from%20LEDs%20and%20projector%20angle%20lifts%20up_zpst1a1ufqk.jpg

Bending Light Off:

Bending Light On(notice the left side of the road is brighter compared to above photo):

Personally, I think it is definitely worth it to get the AFLS enabled with the Prada LED headlights.
On the streets, you can't really tell the difference, but on the highway it makes all the difference, because the intensity of the LEDs are increased and the angle of projection is raised at higher speeds.

Let me know if you run into any issues, but Genesis with AFLS already installed does not need to be repinned.
For other people who is planning on doing this, please keep in mind that I tried it on my 2013 Genesis so I don't know if it will work with earlier Genesis before the redesign.

So while I am waiting for my Prada headlights I have been reading service manual and have found few diagrams. Now I know each wire function.
On the attached picture you can see that the prada headlight have only 9 pins while regular headlight have 10.
Pin 6 and pin 10 - are responsible for AFLS function. As far as I can understand I have to switch only one pin on left (driver side) headlight.
I think pin 10 in regular headlight turning lens to the left and pin 6 to the right. For left one we don't need to use right turn but use pin 10 on the pin 6 to make one of 4 leds brighter when turning left.
I will check this theory when I'll get my headlights and let you guys know if it will work fine.

I wanna mention something everyone should be discussing in this thread. USDM markets, the headlight beams are angled like this (/ /) in order to prevent blinding oncoming traffic to the left whereas in EDM markets, the beam is opposite (\ \) to not blind the oncoming traffic that approaches the right of the car. Does this all make sense? Now that ive explained this, If the KDM market drives on the same side of the road as USDM market, disregard any of this... but this could help others.
