  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

The R-Spec on the original post of the invoice pic was confusing. The reference was not on the invoice, but added to the post and displayed below the pic. It has since been removed as noted. I am still not sure what the 2015 R-Spec reference in the attached picture was.

I have looked at that invoice very carefully, and I doubt seriously it was an R-Spec. It was an Hyundai Motor America document dated 5-9-2014 referring to 2015 50 RWD vehicle that is already in the US and ready to be shipped to a dealer. It has the exact MSRP as the V8 Ultimate listed on the Hyundai website. If it were an R-Spec, it would have to be one of best kept secrets in the history of Hyundai Motor Company. I am assuming that because Tommy has access to it, that the particular vehicle is going to his dealership somewhere in South Region of US.

I think the annoyed Mr. Butler above would approve.

Sorry. Just goes to show you how sexist our world is. I am not a male.

As for residual - I want Hyundai to build a quality car that will hold its residual value. Nothing hard to ask for. Just ask people about Toyota or Honda.

Just brought home 3.8 with awd paid $500 over invoice. Brought my 2010 genesis to carmax and sold it there over what the dealer offered

What dealer did you work with? Everyone around me is sticking to sticker still.

One dealer here in Houston was MSRP a few days ago, now may be a couple grand above invoice. I will see when I get back in town. They are one of the few here in town NOT marking up their '15 Genesis like crazy. Rest of these folks have lost my business so we shall see. May be driving home in my Genny in a couple weeks.

Found my deal. $250 above invoice on a base 3.8 AWD. Picking it up tomorrow. Must be some end of month incentives in play here.

This is some good news... Thanks for sharing.

Quality already I think...residual, no way

I had gotten no bites when I had asked around buying at invoice, but I just received an email that they would sell a Tech for Invoice. I have been waiting for my draft from my credit union but expect to have that today or tomorrow... Maybe I'll have a new Genesis before the weekend is out.

Hey guys. All these numbers are real good but tell us what you actually paid for the car so we can compare and make sure we are all getting a fair deal.

I am currently being quoted $47,661 out the door for a Tech 3.8 RWD.

Price $43,734 (invoice)
Tax $2,674 (6% + $50)
Tag & Title $403
Dealer Fee $850
Total $47,661

I hate negotiating out the dealer fee. Some dealers are such a pain about it.

This is without a ton of negotiating. There is still a lot left to iron out. I have a trade in (2008 EXL V6 Accord Coupe) and this dealer doesn't quite have the color combo that I want.

I don't think I would ever pay MSRP for a car. No matter how much money I have at any given point that feels like a waste, especially given the less-than-stellar resale values (which will hopefully improve with this generation).

I paid a hair over $51 including destination for a 5.0 Ultimate in Black on Gray. Traded in my 08 Infiniti for 17k, put another $11k down, and got 1.65% financing on the remaining. Let's just say that salesman made my day.

Only fees paid were standard doc and registration stuff, $250 and $35ish.

If you haven't seen it in person yet I'd suggest you do. I ended up driving 80 miles for the deal and exterior color I wanted. I was skeptical, but actually really really enjoyed the gray in person. The beige which I originally wanted was a little less exciting than pictures (probably due to them oversaturating the ones on the website and that not affecting the gray nearly as much as the beige). In the end they were a dead draw for me and the closest black on beige was like 800 miles away.

Edit: what is up with those fees you posted? I will never pay a dealer fee. I did all of my negotiation via email and asked that any prices quoted included only universal rebates anyone could get. They could then mention anything else I might qualify for separately. Unless there's something insanely expensive about tag and title in your state at least $350 of that is just taking you for a ride. As for the dealer fee -- if they wanted more money for simply selling the car they should have included it in their ask price.

The $400 or so in Tag & Title is about right in Florida. It is made up of about 6 or 7 different small fees, which is including the Doc Fees on the loan.

The Dealer fee is obviously just extra profit. Still, a lot of dealers print it on their paperwork to make it seem not negotiable. You'll have to get them to cross it out and initial it or lower the cash purchase price extra to compensate.

Then I have to negotiate the trade-in... another pain.

I am hoping that they add a conquest incentive this month. Most of the Hyundai vehicles have both the loyalty and conquest incentives but the 2015 Genesis only had the loyalty $1,000.

I was sad they didn't have the competitor rebate too, but I was trading in an Infiniti. It doesn't matter though for you. Those two offers are mutually exclusive. Either you take credit for owning a Hyundai and get that credit or you take credit for trading in a competitor. You can't do both on any car per Hyundaiusa website.
