  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

Is DVD-Audio even that popular anymore? What about high quality MP3 audio, I imagine more people would use those.

What is "high quality" mp3 audio?

DVD-A and SACD both lost the bid to become the universal new hires audio standard years ago, but did produce some great recordings which used high resolution sampling, surround and dedicated LFE tracks which make for a more involved playback. DTS also has some excellent sounding audio CD's which also produce high quality surround sound.

I was under the impression 320Kbps was considered "high quality"

For compressed audio it may be higher than 192K or 256K, but it is still less than the source material which can have many times more resolution.

It is a hotly debated topic and many feel that MP3's are fine in a world of small ear buds and limited storage. On playback systems that can utilize higher quality sources, the difference may be more noticeable. The Lexicon system is one of those environments where higher resolution source content can likely better be enjoyed.

In the case of DVD-A, they usually contain a 96 kHz/24-bit 5.1-channel audio track as well as a 192 kHz/24-bit stereo audio track, which are significantly different than MP3 and even regular CD.

If you're not an Audiophile or don't really care about sound quality, DVD-Audios won't matter much to you.

DVD-A is basically dead, along with SACD, but I've picked up a few albums that are of interest to me and regularly enjoy them in my Genesis. Sounds wonderful too.

Agreed. And someplace in here, or another forum, there are good posts about using lossless audio MP4 on Genesis system. I seem to remember it will accept it. There are a couple subscription sites for lossless audio recordings. Huge downloads. But able to store on phone (maybe a USB stick) and sounds great. Too lazy now to go and dig that stuff out. Need to do that so I can try it myself too.

Now back to prices paid. Unless someone has links to the lossless audio posts.

I'm wondering the same thing. Seems like they always put the incentives out on the 3rd of the month.

I thought this thread would have more sharing of lease payments and prices paid vs. discussion.......

That is the intention. Sometimes we get bored and go off on tangents. But you are correct. This discussion should be focused on purchase price and leases.

Now back to it folks [emoji2]

Patience. Not everyone that leases or purchases a Genesis posts on here. If all goes as planned, I'll be a new '15 either tomorrow or Saturday. I'll be sure to share my numbers once that happens.

RSPEC....if you haven't checked it out yet, the new April incentives are out.

What is the tier 1 money factor and residual for April on the 2015 Genesis 5.0? I know it has been .00022 and 55% in months past and was wondering whether or not it had changed.

Appears the same for April.

This is sort of related to topic: I was in Huntington Beach yesterday (HQ) and was in line at a popular lunch spot behind a Hyundai marketing rep. We struck up a brief conversation about the Genesis and he let it slip (maybe/maybe not intentionally) that the '16 model will include additional refinements to make for a more "spirited, performance oriented driving experience"
I pressed for more details and even dropped an R-Spec bomb. Unfortunately all I got was a grin and the 'ol "wait 'n see".
He did say that forums like these are monitored almost daily and feedback is taken heavily into consideration.
- looks like that tidbit may have tipped to scale for me to "wait 'n see" a few months longer

I'd get in line to trade-up my 2015 if they came out with another RSPEC. Can't ever have too much HP... :)

Doubt more HP (at least on the Tau) but a handling package and increasing the torque for better control and acceleration seems reasonable
