If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

price paid for extended warranty

Ok, I signed up for my 10/100/$0 Platinum HPP today. Paid $1,495 from Hau-B at Jim Ellis here in Atlanta. Price feels a touch high, but given that my car is not a CPO and I'm the second owner so no existing 10/100 powertrain warranty, I'm pleased. To get it local was also important to me, but in no way necessary.

My Genny has just 8k miles on her right now for comparison purposes.

I'm no expert but I studied this fairly hard (although I only got quotes from 3 dealers - Ellis, Price and Jerry's), so if you have questions feel free to ping me.

Hey guys just finalized a 10 yr. $0 deductible HPP warranty on my 2011 4.6. I purchased it a month ago with 19,700 miles for $22,700 as a CPO. At time of purchase the dealership said they couldn't do it for less than $1800. They initially tried to offer me their 7yr. warranty thru the dealership for $1300 which I of course declined.... I called them this week after I told them I had already gotten a quote for $1295 from Jim Ellis in Atlanta (which I hadn't yet) and they said they didn't know how any dealership could give it to me for that price unless they were losing money. Well after telling them about all the owners who were able to get it for less on this site, they called me back 10 min. later and offered it to me for $1289 They were also able to roll it into the existing financing so I paid nothing up front. I purchased the car out of state because it was a much better deal than anything local. They overnighted the paperwork with prepaid return thru fedex and it was super easy. Pretty happy with the deal and I want to thank everyone on here for posting. If not for this site I wouldn't have even been familiar with the warranty and definitely wouldn't have gotten it for this price.

I paid $1884 here in Florida for the 10/100,000 Hyundai extended warranty. I called around other dealers and got pricing from $1650 to $2200. Opted to stick with my local dealer as he tossed in the 5 year Road Hazard on my tires so it was actually cheaper in the long run.

Florida can not discount a warrantee
This is correct extended warranty is considered insurance in Florida and regulated by the state. Its a pain in the butt, not many discounts here--- in Florida.

Just bought a 2015 3.8 Ultimate. Looking for a warranty. Just talked to Hau-B at Jim Ellis in Atlanta who quoted me $1959 for the 10/100/$0 Platinum HPP and $1659 for the 10/100/$100 (deductible) Platinum HPP. Claimed Hyundai has recently raised their prices for the 2015 models.

Has anyone else had this experience? Are there other dealers who may have a better price?

Thanks for any input.

I paid $1884 for mine with deductible. I am happy with that price because here in Florida there is no negotiating the price due to some bureaucratic Florida Law... Just make sure you buy one before you put to many miles on it. The more miles, the higher the price.

I'm sorry I didn't see this question, yes it is a CPO

2013 CPO Base model with 29k miles. I e-mail blasted several Hyundai dealers across the country. Only 2 got back with me. One quoted $1,399 and one quoted $1,369 for the Platinum HPP with $0 deductible. Does this seem like a fair deal?

I am not sure if there is a different price depending on Trim Level (Base, Premium, Tech). But generally speaking, the Base Trim has been much more reliable due to much less complex infotainment system, no GPS, no adaptive cruise control, etc. Since you get the 10 year drivetrain warranty due to car being CPO, not sure if the extended warranty for a Base Trim is quite as important compared to other trim levels. But the price seems fair, since the car is not new (apparently they charge less for warranty on a brand new car, since they get the money up front while the entire regular warranty is still in effect).

I just spoke to someone at Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta, which was recommended in this thread for having good pricing on HPP warranties. Unfortunately, they won't sell warranties to out of state customers, so I'm looking at local dealers. I'll keep you posted as to what I can find.

That must be new. Lots of folks here, me included (I'm in MD), bought from Jim Ellis.

I made a deal with the dealer from whom I bought my car. They gave me a 10-year Platinum plan with zero deductible for $1600. The offer they made at the sale of the car was for nearly double that number!

The dealer I bought my car from quoted me $3,500. I called the local dealer and he said $1,600. I told him about people paying less and ended up getting it for $1,400.

Anyone with any recent experiences/purchases willing to share with the rest of us?
I bought my 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate new from a dealer in the DFW area and am just now (at 6200 miles) seriously beginning to explore the purchase of an HPP extended warranty.
I've just emailed 5 of the dealers listed throughout the thread asking for quotes for a 10 year/100K miles/0 deductible warranty. I'll be happy to report back on what I learn.
I noticed that the last few posts in this thread speak to significantly higher prices for warranties. My assumption is that this is due to the anticipated repair costs associated with the 2015 models. Don't know for certain, I'm making what I think may be an educated guess.

Guys

Does anyone know if the hpp warranty is same for equus or it is different ? I was looking for a genesis and ended up getting a 2011 equus ultimate with 36500miles. Dealer is quoting for $3800 10/100 platinum. I felt that is high for a cpu vehicle ? Any advice ?

I suspect that HPP Platinum for Equus is more than for Genesis, but dealers will quote a ridiculous price just in case someone is willing to pay it. Find one of the people via IM on this forum who got the warranty via email/phone from another dealer, and contact them for a reasonable quote. You do not have to purchase the warranty from the dealer where you purchased the car.

Thank you.
I tried speaking with any finance guy in Jim Ellis without any success, sent an email will wait for the update.
Equus community is not active like Genesis :( I will miss the Genesis community.
