Problems with windshield and wipers

There was no adapter in the package and Amazon doesn't have any.
Have contacted Valeo to see if I can get one from them.
Apparently wiper arms have changed for 2012 Genesis. I wonder, why?

I have spoken to Valeo guy regarding this.
For 2012 model (that have hook wiper arms) the 900-24-7B won't work.
The correct models are: Ultimate 900-24-1B (driver) and 900-20-1B (pass). These models comes with correct adapter for hook arm.
So, for 2012 owners who want to upgrade OEM wipers, these are the models to get.

I finally replaced the factory blades. I used Bosch ICON blades that I bought at AutoZone. What a dramatic difference. I still use RainX, but these new blades are awesome, not one streak, smear or speck left behind. I am an idiot for not doing this sooner.

I went to Autozone and was advised there were no blades out for the 2012's. Had them search the 2011 Genesis. Installed Tricore Neoprenes. Day and night difference. There is simply something wrong with the rubber on the stock 2012 blades.

2012 & 2011 & 2010- all should be identical- no windshield or arm change.

I installed the new model Valeo blades (that take into account the 2012 change in the wiper arm) on my 2012 4.6. They work great.

I just had a new windshield installed. Now the driver's-side wiper raps the frame at the top of the upstroke...noisily, though not so hard as to cause damage. I've parked the wipers in service position and checked to see they're installed correctly. All looks ok, with the longer blade on the driver's side and both seated properly. It just seems the wiper arm is swinging a bit too far now, whereas the strokes were smooth and quiet before.

Anyone here go through this before? Suggestions?

Thanks.

i've had the same problem, its almost as if it extends too far and it slaps the edge of the glass onto the frame of the car

I realize this is an old thread, but I couldn't find another place to ask my question. After washing my car, I apparently had some grit of some kind trapped between my wash mit and my windshield. Now at night when I pick up oncoming headlights or drive close to street lights, I get a refraction off of lots of very shallow scratches. These aren't deep enough to even detect with your fingernail, but I can see them with an LED flashlight and they are indeed tiny very shallow scratches in a swirl pattern. I'm thinking the windshield in my 2012 is abnormally soft. The side windows and rear glass are fine. My question is first, has anyone else experienced this issue, and secondly, would my car polishing compound be appropriate to remove the scratches? Any knowledge in this area would be appreciated.

Afaik windshield is laminated (acoustic insulation) - that's why it is soft.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
There have been other posts noting the Genesis windshield seems soft compared to other car windshields: scratches easy and/or seems to pit easier from road grime and debris.

I think I'll try a small test spot with the polishing compound this weekend. If someone feels the glass is too soft and this will damage the glass, please let me know.

I cleaned mine with Griot's glass polish and a Maguiar's DA polisher last year. I was trying to remove some really stubborn crud that had built up. It cleaned up fine, with no damage to the glass that I could see.

Ok, here's another stupid question. How do I pull the blades up to clean them? The seem to be mechanically stuck against the windshield and I can only lift them a few inches off the windshield surface.

The wiper blades have a position called SERVICE WIPER BLADES which will bring them up where you reach them and turn them out away from the glass to clean or replace them.
You will find how to do this on page 7-25 7-26 in your owners manual.
Nobody at my selling dealer ever heard of this, but a very sharp young man about 20 years old working at an advance auto store showed this to me.
I was shocked as the dealer was unaware of how to do this.
Try it you will be pleased. Mine is a 2011 Genesis sedan

Hi All,
when my screen gets a few stubborn blotches I usually use a nylon nail brush and a little hand soap, a good scrub and a good rinse will do the job..
Making sure your window wash fluid is fresh also helps.......Twice a year, before summer then before winter I flush out the old fluid & replace with fresh..
The wipers on my "G" are excellent....

Now that my 2011 Genesis is beyond its bumper-to-bumper warranty, the windshield wipers have decided to stop working while I was out of town. I took it to the dealer in St. Augustine and after a $100 diagnostic charge they told me they didn't have the part available for several days. They quoted me $719+tax to replace the wiper motor. My wife did a little Googling and found out they are actually recalling 2012 Genesis and 2011-2013 Equus due to the wiper motor failures.

Anyway, if you would, please Like my post to Hyundai's page. https://www.facebook.com/Hyundai/posts/10154697047189046

HTH somebody else out there as well. :)

Edit: My Facebook post also links to this but here it is directly. http://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2016/hyundai-recalls-genesis-equus-windshield-wiper-problems.shtml

To raise the blades for service:

Push wiper stalk up to mist for 4 secs. w/ign. off

Lower blades by turning ign on & momentarily push stalk up

Not covered in my manual

I ordered these blades through Amazon for my 2013.

These were the longest lasting blades I have used. They blew away the performance of the OEM Hyundai blades. And they're cheap. They sell as a pair, 24" and 20".
When the windshield gets too sloppy, I'll apply a blob or two of Barkeeper's Friend to a sponge and rub it down and rinse with a hose. It does a great job at removing the funk.

Hey guys. So, I took my kids through the automatic car wash today (they love it!) in my '09 4.6 Genesis. As we entered onto the conveyor, I immediately start responding to work emails ,via iPad, that needed responding to. Neigh did I realize, until it was too late, that I had left my automatic windshield wipers in the 'on' position. Needless to say that upon exit of said car wash my wipers no longer worked :(.. I imagine them straining beyond their limited capacity under the weight of the blue scrubby spaghetti brushes, until they no longer could fight the overwhelming onslaught and some component gave up. They now come about a third of the way up and stop. I then have to manually push them down, out of my direct field of view.
What do you guys think I screwed up? Stripped a gear? Fried the motor? Is it a repair I can do with my limited mechanical know how? Should I get a pro???!
Any advice is appreciated. Hopefully, I am posting in the right place. Cheers.
