If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone here use Progressive insurance? I have been trying to insure my 2015 Genny sedan all week to no avail. It simply does not exist according to Progressive, no respect...

Seriously I just spent an hour on the phone trying to add a 2015 V8 Ultimate sedan to my insurance and the only options at Progressive for the 2015 Hyundai Genesis are the 2 dr coupe in either V6 or four cylinder.

Where's Flo when you need her??

Any recs for online auto insurance? I hate to leave Progressive after 10+ years but this is ridiculous.

Kinda surprising that the car has been out for 9 months and they have this info yet. Apparently, Flo's a little slow.

Wow, maybe you should look for a local Progressive Agent if you want to stay with them before looking. I am sure they can get this figured out for you. I use State Farm (for the last 30 years). I pay $590 ev 6 mos, with guaranteed renewal (they will not drop me due to accidents.. i got grandfathered in this, they do not even offer it any more). $500 deductible, although I bought car, I kept 100/300 to protect myself in case of an accident frm the money chasers in South Florida. Plus all the normal coverage's.

Geico knows of the 2015 Genesis, I just dropped Metlife and saved $800/year
on both the car and truck.

I've been using State Farm for about 15 years. I've always had excellent customer service, rates are very low, and they knew that the Genesis existed when I called from the dealership.

I use progressive for 5 years now and I just bought a genesis(3.8AWD tech+sig) yesterday and they were completely lost.. They kept on referring to the coupe, saying "is the car 4cyl or 6cyl". They finally gave me a quote but I still think they have the wrong car in the system... even though I gave them a VIN number.. paying about $868/6 months. I had to call them 3 times to make sure.. Like you stated it doesn't exist to them yet ...

My GEICO policy dropped about $40/yr when I switched from my 2012 KIA Optima, because they knew about the safety features.

I couldn't get a quote online, but they got mine insured in just a few minutes on the phone. The progressive agent asked if it was an AWD sedan, so I'm assuming they have the correct car. My rate dropped from my 2009 Mazda6, she said it was due to the safety features. I'm in Colorado...

I have also reached that status with State Farm, but I wonder how important it is since they can always raise rates if they want to.

My VIN doesn't even pull up the right version of the Genesis regardless of provider used, so I kind of don't blame them. Still, 9 months is a long time to be out of date.

Really underscores how poorly HMA has been marketing the Genesis. Not that I ever expect to see marketing along the lines of the Sonata or one of the other high volume models.

Not sure it's an HMA issue. I'm with USAA and when I bought my 2015 3.8 AWD Ultimate in Nov, I was able to add the car to my existing policy online by simply entering the VIN. Year, make and model came up fine and no need to even talk to anyone. USAA rocks!

I have progressive and was able to insure my 2015 5.0 Ultimate on line the day that I bought it (last May). I pay $751 a half for Genny, a 2014 Cadillac and a 2006 Audi A4 and two drivers. When my son gets his license next month I expect the premiums to go up a lot.

Your comments in no way refute what I said. USAA is in fact pretty great but that addresses neither the comment regarding the VIN screwup or Hyundai's failure to market the product. On one level it's impossible for anyone but Hyundai to be in control of the VINs for Hyundai vehicles (other than regulatory agencies,) and the other is much more debatable but it's pretty telling that someone whose job it is to input makes and models into a database doesn't even know about a 2015 Genesis sedan. This can just as easily be attributable to user error, but it's not really clear.

All I had to do was provide the VIN too, but my AWD vehicle pulls up as a rear drive and I'm pretty sure as the signature package instead of tech (VINs don't describe features quite to the letter but should correspond pretty closely to the big ones.) I figured that despite the increased cost of the tech package surely I'd get additional discounts due to all the safety technology. Had to send my insurance company a photo of the list that's in the window when you buy it, but that didn't seem to help - price didn't change at all.

So I priced out a 2014 v8 on the website, got a quote which looked reasonable, then I went back in and requoted the same way on a "Manually entered" 2015 sedan. Progressive website indicates that car is now insured but they do not know my premium yet, will send me the bill!

Normally I wouldn't go for that but it seemed a pita to switch companies and the 2014 quote was super reasonable. If it turns ugly I'm going to geico poste haste as they have all four 2015 flavors in their online quote tool.
