  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all, I've recently fallen in love with these cars and am looking to purchase one. In my area there is either ones with fairly low mileage or ones with pretty high mileage. Due to the price differences the high mileage ones are a bit to much for me right now.
I am looking at the 2015 3.8, one has 186000 kilometers or 115000 miles for $12k CAD. The other has 128000 kilometers or 80000 miles for $16k.
I'm unsure of the lifespan of these cars and im unable to find anyone talking about these with high mileage. Should I just look elsewhere? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Purchasing any low millage used car without warranty is risky at best. Purchasing a Genesis, with as many bells & whistles as they have, with over 80K on the dial is a real dice roll. I purchased a '15 Ultimate with about 10k miles. So far rear window switches issue, DRL lights (harness replaced), trunk remotes would not always open or close trunk (wiring harness replaced), gas door switch would not activate opening & few other minor issues. Since this was a CPO vehicle all repairs were covered by the warranty. My warranty ends in Feb. if I can't find a cost effective ext one I'm going to start shopping for the CPO G17. Keep an eye on the replies, not sure you're going to find any 80K or more owners who have not had issues. Good luck

You have to be very very careful with high mileage cars. I would recommend trying to ascertain the type of miles that were put on the vehicle. And of course, a PPI. Your Car Angel on Youtube has a good video on how to distinguish cars that had highway miles verses city miles.
