Honestly, forget worrying about "price to be paid;" I'm having enough trouble trying to FIND one!!!
If I have my druthers I think I'd like a Pamploma red, 3.8 ultimate, but before I commit I want to SEE the colors, the Pamplona red and the two possible interiors as I really am worried about getting a light-colored interior. I be a little piggy.
So ... yesterday I drove to Paramus Hyundai in N.J. to see a car listed on Hyundai circle. I'd called ahead and was informed by "Brian" that Paramus had three red and three black Genesis' IN STOCK.
Day went off to a bad start as my home phone – which I had NOT given them to call specifically because of problems with calls goes off at 10:00 a.m. Saturday - SIX HOURS - before I'm due, to ask if I'm coming in today. Phone number they SHOULD call - and NOT at 10 - is in file - so that already made me think they could give a sh*t* about customers. But okay, everyone's entitled to a mistake.
Keep in mind Brian KNOWS I'm coming in that day and has my cell and can easily contact me.
I drive out there and look for car in lot and can't find it. Brian then comes over and says car is "right over here," being disabled, I ask him to confirm it's there before I hike around lot because I couldn't find it. I wait and wait and he disappears around a corner then comes back and says he needs to see if it's been moved. Nope it hasn't.
He then gets me on crutches to climb up a couple of flights of stairs and when there, has to confab with his people about the simple question where is the car for about five minutes. He then brings over his patently slick manager who tries to ignore my "I know what I'm interested in, so where is car I came out to see?". FINALLY he informs me that it "sold that morning." I am up and out of there. They lost me.
And really? What are the odds??? I mean gosh: apparently they sell SO MANY high-end uniquely colored cars it causes no ripple or discussion.
So: do NOT go to Paramus Hyundai, and my quest to (at minimum) SEE a Pamplona red Genesis ultimate (need to see ultimate so I can also see ACTUAL leather I'd get, otherwise any package would do to see) continues!
And now every other dealer inherits the problem, as I will make them text a "hostage is alive" photo of the car to me before I drive all the way there!
Bad dealerships punish any of the good ones!
