  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My DRL's go off when I put on my turn signal. Not both, but only the light on the same side as the turn signal flashing. My question: is this normal? I never saw it happen as I am inside driving, but I was driving behind my wife's car & she saw it happen. Thanks for any input.

Funny that you should ask this today...i just noticed it on my 2014 while sitting behind someone at a traffic light today.
So yeah, its normal...i guess to make the turn signal easier to see.

Thanks, my wife noticed it yesterday as I was behind her, I have a 2013 . I am still learning new things about this car after 2 years & this is my 3rd Genesis.

My 2014 does the same thing and I've noticed a lot of newer car do the same. The DRL turns off on the same side as the turn signal.

Suggest you update your profile. You do not own a 2G Genesis.

If you want to get anal about it, it's 1.5G ;)
2G begins with the '15s

No need to get your shorts in a wad with me. The Webmaster established the system. There is no 1.5 category except in your mind.

At any point, did I quote you, speak to you, or use an emoticon other than this one -> ;) ?
Now, work on learning how inline replies work, and keep that blood pressure in check.

Thanks, sweetums!

Not meaning to be anal. New to the forum and just learning about the Genesis history. Wasn't sure, that's all.

1G = first generation of the sedans. 2009 to 2014 basically. Each year saw minor changes/updates introduced with 2012 having more significant changes made as part of the "mid design cycle" update.

2G = second generation. 2015 until whenever the next significant re-design is introduced.

Just show him one of each, side by side. No further explanation required.

Gen 1.0 = 2009 to 2011
Gen 1.5 = 2012 to 2014 (new body style, 5.0 GDI V8, Rspec)
Gen 2.0 = 2015+

Mikec, thanks for the info. I have owned a Hyundai 350GL , 2004, 2009 Genesis sedan, 6 cyl, 2011 Genesis sedan 8 cyl, & currently a 2013 Genisis 6 cyl. Love the ride.
