I have seen the cashmere interior at my dealer and don't really like it. But they didn't have any black interiors...Texas heat I guess.

All of the photos of the black interior seem to be more of a dark gray especially the leather. Is this acurate or is it just the photos?

PS - I have enjoyed all the reviews and photos you guys have provided!

I moved this post into it's own topic to give it the attention it deserves...

My impression of the black interior is that it is more of a dark grey.

I know what you mean about the Cashmere, was disappointed to see a dark brown dash. I had seen pics of the Korean model that had black dash with black leather wrap, which looked quite nice.

IMO the black currently is the best looking interior. I was wondering if the V8 will have slightly different interiors as in the brochures I have seen an all black dash (i.e. not two-tone) but have yet to see this in the showroom.

Anyone who has been at the tour event and seen a V8, remember if they had a differnt combo?

It's more of a dark ash grey. Applying a nice coat of 303 Aerospace Protectant on everything darkened up the various plastics to a true black or at least VERY close to it.

Very much in the eye of the beholder. I went back to the dealer today to check it out. Looked at both a black on black, and the light blue on black. Looking in the window the seats look black. Open the door and let sunlight shine on it and it indeed does look like a dark grey.

In all the cars, the dash [top surface] and the wrapped wheel are all black. I had my heart set on the cashmere interior till we saw it, and there is just too much going on color wise. Grey headliner, cashmere seats and carpet, black wheel and dash and then the BROWN stripe running thought the middle. With the black on black, the seats and carpet are the same color as the wheel wrap and dash. [whatever your eye perceives that shade to be]. The brown stripe still runs around, but is not bad.

If you want the brown trim stripe to "disappear", you need the brown seats which match perfectly. Then you're back to the grey, brown , black combo. Saw the Sapphire Blue with brown, just didn't have any punch.

I would have to agree with previous post that Black/Black is the sharpest for now.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Thanks for the responses. I am looking forward to actually seeing a black interior in person.

I think this is one area where Hyundai can improve. They only offer 3 different color interiors. I wish they had a grey colored interior which would work with some of the exterior colors they offer. I personally like the black exterior which leaves just the sand or black interior as an option. If the black interior is indeed an ash black then I may consider that. Definitely not into dark black interiors.

Actually, most automakers only offer 3 different interior colors. Sure, some like BMW, etc. offer more, but Hyundai is quite competitive with it's color combinations. You want to see an automaker with extremely limited color combinations and interior color choices? Look no further than Honda/Acura or for that matter, two of the Genesis' direct competitors, the Chrysler 300 and Pontiac G8. The Chrylser only has 2 interior color options and the Pontiac G8 only comes with a black interior (with or without red accents). Still, I agree that a grey interior choice would be nice, as long as it's not a lifeless rental-car grey.

jwaters-I see the pictures you posted and would like to confirm that the color is Titanium Gray ? The KDM Badges are really nice looking-can the rear Hyundai logo be removed and the KDM badges installed front and rear ? I am talking to Roseville Hyundai now-I see the license frame is from there. Thanks Charles

Never mind Jwaters-I read your previous posts and found the answer to my questions-a lot of posts to dig through. Could you share the name of your salesman at Roseville Hyundai ? I've been exchanging e-mail with a person who says he is the General Manager but he is never available and doesn't return phone calls or e-mail. They have the best price apparently_I live in Arizona and the dealers over here are very proud of their cars. I was quoted $33888.00 for the same exact car that you have-same colors and equipment.

In all the cars, the dash [top surface] and the wrapped wheel are all black.

The Cashmere I saw with the Premium Plus package had a dark brown top surface dash as well as top of the doors. Steering wheel was black. I have seen a pic of the base Cashmere (expansive simulated wood dash) with a black top dash but have not seen one in person so I can't comment.

The Cashmere I saw had the same color dash top as every other Genesis I sat in. I saw no hints of brown in the top of the dash. Weird. Maybe it looked dark brown because of the fact that the leather dash trim just below the dash top is more of a pure black than the dark grey dash top. As you can see in this pic I took, the steering wheel is the same color as the top of dash/doors.

Well that pic looks a little brown, if you compare the color of the turn signal, to the dash, but hey I needed another reason to go back to the dealer :)

OK, so I finally saw the black interior today. The leather is definitely black. I did not see grey at all. It was an overcast day with no sun and it was in the show room, but I do not think the sun would have lightened the appearance very much at all.

The dash seemed slightly lighter than the leather.

so the dash was black as well? the ones I have seen with black seats all have saddle on the dash....

I would prefer all black if you can get it. The guys at the Discovery Genesis Tour (Dallas) told me you could specify the dash leather color, but they don't actually work for Hyundai...

I was referring to the dash color minus the leather wrap. It was the brown saddle (whatever they call it).

Sorry for the confusion.
