  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm putting mufflers on my r spec tomorrow and I'm just wondering how you guys went about this. One way is to just cut off stock mufflers and weld up new ones and just have the pipe go up to the holes in the bumper. That's the way mine is done right now with a muffler delete. The other way would be to cut out the muffler and cut off the end of it so the new muffler tip is completely sealed into the bumper. Right now when I look at my car from the back through the holes in the bumper I can see the pipes stub into the bumper holes. I can also see under the car around the pipe. Is this the way your setups look as well? I'm just wondering if it's worth getting the shop to try and cut the ends off the stock muffler and weld it on so it closes up that gap.

I can see tip of the muffler in the dress-up/integrated tip, and mine is a cut/weld. Option C would be to paint the muffler you're using black on the business end.
