  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

question on ivory interior

PLEASE HELP!!

I've had my Ibiza Blue Genesis for 2 weeks now and I have realized that there are scratches on on the passenger side center console. The scratches are coming from the metal from the seatbelt hitting the center console as people are trying to find the clicker. I've tried to wipe it off with some automotive cleaner but its not coming off. Please could somebody recommend something I could try and get them scratches off?

Thank You
Same here. Touch up paint would work best. I've heard if you provide the Genesis dealer with your VIN number, then they should be able to provide the ivory interior color code. I plan on doing this at some point and then ordering the paint from Touch Up Paint, Pens, Paint Kits & Accessories.

I've delt with the ivory interior in mine for almost 4 months now. I have the joy of also having a 4 year old son who always wants to ride in daddy's car. How tolerant of the ivory's quirks you will be is directly related to how OCD you are about keeping the car clean. In short, it's easy to clean but you are going to be doing so VERY frequently.

My thoughts are as follows:

1) It's destinctive and beautiful. So many people have dark interiors that ivory really looks unique regardless of the car make and model.

2) In my opinion hyundai did this 100% correctly. The only surfaces which are ivory are the leather ones. All the carpeted areas are black. Having owned cars where light interiors came with light carpets I can tell you that is a nightmare. The flooring surfaces should always be black.

3) The leather is very easy to clean with the correct products. I personally use and swear by Griot's Garage "interior cleaner" for everyday and their leather specific products for a few times a month. I keep the interior cleaner and some cloths in my trunk.

3) Ivory shows all the dirt and grime that would normally be hidden by dark interior. Every time my son rides in the car I must wipe down several of the surfaces near where he sits in the car after he gets out because I can't stand the look of dirt/dust/footprints on the ivory surfaces.

4) I had to put a towel underneath his car seat or else every time he climbs in and out of it he leaves scary looking footprints on the Ivory leather.

5) Ivory is the only interior with the Matte Finish Black Ash Wood, another item which makes the car more unique. Ivory is also only available with the ultimate package.

I love the ivory and have no regrets, even though I would go crazy if I did not carry cleaning supplies in my trunk. Maybe my OCD will taper off after i've had the car longer. It still has new car smell. :)

Hope this helps.

Hi Brian, I just purchased a 2017 G80 3.8 AWD Ultimate in Patagonia Blue with Ivory Interior. I waited three years to find this color combo. Absolutely stunning.....I would like to know what you use to clean or polish the dark wood matte finish? Thanks, Bob PS. I am in the OCD club myself.

I ordered some leather dye from a company called Seat Doctor. The store claims to sell Ivory leather seat repair dye specifically for the Hyundai Genesis. I purchased the small 4oz bottle for $24 dollars to touch a few spots on my seats that have scratches. If the color match is good then I would order a larger bottle for future touch ups.

I will give some feedback when the product arrives.

I ordered the same dye from Seat Doctors and it is a perfect match.

Cool.

The Ivory color in my Genesis is a hard color for me to match with other dyes/kits I bought online. Either too dark or too light, however I am not a paint mixing expert so it could just be my lack of paint mixing skill that is the problem.

Hopefully the bottle of Ivory dye I receive gives the same results as yours. I am surprised how hard it is to find the right color for the Ivory color Hyundai uses.

Just purchased a new to me 2015 genny with 50k miles and ivory interior.

One of my initial to-do items was to fix some of the driver seat "cracking". Here are some results using the leather dye mentioned above. 3 light coats. About 20 mins apart. Durability unknown. We will see if it wipes away with the next cleaning. Or if it gets on my clothes.

Any durability updates from anyone using it in the past?
