  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I have my light switch set to AUTO, and I am driving during the day when it is bright outside, and I turn on my left signal light, my daytime running light goes off on the left side until the signal light finishes its job. Then my light is normal. The same happens with the right side as well.
Is this normal? Do you experience the same? One of the service managers at my dealer had just called as a courtesy to see if my head unit was working satisfactorily, and was wondering if I had any other issues. He couldn't answer my question and suggested I bring the car in.
I do know that Chrysler is infamous for having this feature on their cars, maybe not now, I do not know, but a few years ago, it was the norm.

So, anybody know?

Yes, and yes.

Normal. My mother-in-law thought one of my running lights was out the first day I had the car. I suspect it makes the turn signal easier to see in bright conditions.

Normal. Audi does the same thing.

Thanks, guys. Saved me a trip to the service department, although when I take it for its first oil change, I will have them look at it anyhow

Just look at any number of cars in the road... Most if not all late model cars do this.
