  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealer service in Miami, FL area:

Potamkin Hyundai, Miami Lakes, FL: NG- Lacadaisical attitude, weak technical skills. Dealership concentrates on sales, not service. Not up to snuff for a higher-end car,

Lehman Hundai, Miami Lakes, FL: Service manager outstanding, techs know their business. Excellent service.
Since dealers make most of their profit on service, I wonder why Potamkin emphasizes sales and provides sub-par service...

The purpose of this thread is to force the lessor ones to step up their game or get out of the game, I promise Hyundai will take note eventually if we are willing to expose them rather then just complain!

You promise? Plese let us in on your connection to Hyundai.

I support your effort, by the way. Many dealerships have to improve a significant amount for Hyundai to become a perceived luxury car builder. The interface with the customer is usually sales and then service, and service is where it often goes to hell.

Coastal Hyundai In Melbourne Fl:
10 for treating me well
6 for aesthetics (they need to seriously update this facility)
10 for seeming like they really want me to be happy
10 for giving me a brand new Genesis to keep overnight (if needed) when I take my car in for service
10 for giving me lifetime free oil changes. I've put 39k miles on my car in the last 12 months and that's 13 free oil changes so far. Awesome!

I live in Orlando, but my business is in West melbourne, so I bought my car out there.

Plus, my price before taxes was only $36k for a V8 Tech. It was $38k prior to my Hyundai competitive bonus rebate.

I have a 2011 4.6 which I purchased from Advantage Hyundai in Hicksville,NY. the car is 1 month old. I called for an appointment and requested a loaner. I was having intermtent issues with the drivers seat heating and the headlights coming on intermitently. I arrive for my appointment, and no loaner available. I get 2 calls from the tech writter saying they can't replicate the problems. I told the tech of the results from others with the same issues that I found on this site. Didn't seem to care. I asked for a price to swap out the aribag* It took me 10 minutes max). They wanted to charge me $90 for an hour. I t:(old him I know it is 2 screws and 2 plugs. I offered $45 for 30 minutes.. No go. I guess I was expecting more. came out of a jag XJR before. I hope this isnt what I am going to get from their service dept.

Are you changing oil every 3,000 miles? Once a month?

Hyundai of Puerto Rico

7-Sales
1- Service

They have no clue and can't even begin to fathom what true customer service is.

My dealer was recently sold to the Langdale Group, so now it is Langdale Hyundai. I have not been there since this acquisition so I don't know how they rate anymore. Just ignore my previous post here.

Roger Beasley Hyundai, Kyle, Texas - 8 for service, 5 for facilities (lousy waiting room, free wash and detailing, recently changed hands and people there seem a bit inexperienced but willing, very friendly)

South Point Hyundai, Austin, TX - 9 for service, 6 for facilities (better waiting room than Kyle, but not great, service manager personally drove me to and from breakfast on a nasty day)

South Point had tons of Genesis sedans on their lot. Beasley had a much smaller choice.

Service is a 10+

Potamkin Hyundai, Miami, FL:

Disaster on all counts. Service department unprofessional and untrained. Other side of dealership too focused on money and not on getting it right.

Lehman Hyundai, Miami, FL:

10/10 on service- they work at it. Have no experience with sales side.

Hall Hyundai, Newport News VA

Sales - N/A - Did not purchase vehicle from this dealership because they didn't want to negotiate on the price

Service - 4 - The only perk they offer for a Genesis customer is a car wash (if any service tech is available), no loaner. They really need to step up the service perks for the owner of their premier vehicle.

After a recent visit, I filled out a customer critique and gave the service department low marks. A few days later the service manager called and ask why the low marks and comments, so I explained to him that for a vehicle that they're marketing the Genesis to be, the service for the vehicle has to above the norm and is just as important as the vehicle itself. We had a conservation for about 5 minutes and his main point during the entire time was that I didn't purchase my Genesis from their dealership. I told him that should not be the main point, it should be how to improve the service to the customer of their top-tier vehicle. I just hope Hall Hyundai will get the message and improve their service and options to Genesis owners. I know I'm not the only customer who is dissatisfied with their approach.

Hamilton hyundai, hamilton, ontario, canada

I bought from Round Rock Hyundai, also known as Classic Hyundai in Texas. When I first started taking it in for service two years ago, I would have rated them at about a 6 or 7. They have improved through more experience with the Gennys and now they are great - a 10. I have had a few problems such as a bad fuel pump and battery problems. The cap on the on/off knob of the radio came off somehow and they had to order a whole new face for it. Installed at no cost. I always get a loaner and the last couple of times it has been another Genny. I did get a Sonata once and it was a dog, but I think that maybe I'm just spoiled.

Sales, toss up. Again, he didn't know too much about the car two years ago due to unfamiliarity but maybe he is better informed now. I have been meaning to test the Equus but just haven't gotten around to it yet but they made no changes to the showroom or dealership at all when they got the Equus. I thought that they were required to have a separate showroom for it but that is NOT the case.

Giuffre Hyundai, Brooklyn, Bay Ridge, New York

1 out of 10 for sales
they are ruthless crooks, beware

6 for service

Interested in purchasing a 2012 Genesis in CT. My experience with CT dealers over past two weeks is as follows:

Key Hyundai - Manchester - Called and got an answering machine and left message. Never got a call back.
Danbury Hyundai - Danbury - Was transferred to Chrysler sister dealership. Left message for salesman. Never got a call back.
Alfano Torrington Hyundai - Stopped at dealership. Met with salesmen who told me he was too busy on weekend to check to see when 2012 would be coming in and would call me on Monday. A week later still no call.
Balise Hyundai - Springfield - Called and spoke to salesman who took my name and said he would call me when he had more information. No calls from him.
Lia Hyundai - Hartford - Won't go there as found them to be very pushy on two other occasions.

I am interesting in purchasing car before going on vacation in Aug. Doesn't seem any dealers in CT really want to try to earn my business. Maybe I should consider purchasing vehicle in Orlando or Winter Park or Tampa when on vacation.

I almost bought a KIA from Giuffre glad I didnt if you say they are crooks

Here is what happened.
I negotiate a deal with salesperson, then sign financing papers, for every paper their finance manager would say what it about and I signed. Sales contract was never mentioned.
Then all excited and happy I drive away in a new 4.6 and later that night I think: where is contract? I check financial papers and it's among them, they slipped it in. And numbers are all different. They increased sales price above the sticker and removed all price reductions I've negotiated and reduced the price of my trade-in.

Houston area:
North Freeway Hyundai: Sales, 10; too soon for first service so I don't know about service department

Sterling McCall Hyundai: 1 (or minus number if possible); They agreed to a price via email. When I went in to buy it--with the main difference being I wanted the extended warranty--I was told "we're $4-5000 apart." One week had passed from the offer to when I was ready to buy, and that included two test drives with them. When I questioned how adding the extended warranty could have caused such a change in the price of a 4.6, the salesman actually said that the cars were different. I pointed out that the email (and the one I wanted to buy) were both for the 4.6's. He said "maybe the first one didn't have the technology package." As all of you know, there are no real options on the 4.6! I left and happily bought it from North Freeway Hyundai. Time wasted at Sterling McCall: hours. Total time I was on North Freeway Hyundai's property until price was agreed on: less than 5 minutes. Plus, North Freeway sold it to me for the exact price Sterling McCall promised!
