However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anybody successfully solved the rattle problems resulting from the bass generated by the sound system? It seems like there are two separate rattles that I can locate.

One seems to be coming from the rear shade. When it is down, I can make the rattle go away by slightly lifting up on the upper bar of the shade.

The second rattle seems to from within the rear deck itself. When I press down near the center where the sub is, that rattle seems to go away.

Anybody had any success with methods they've used to silence these rattles?

I put DynaMat under the rear deck and seats, fully surrounding the speakers. While the shade is up it occasionally vibrates if enough bass hits it, when the shade is down very rarely do I hear anything from it at all. I'm not 100% sure but I think in the 2013's they slightly changed the shade or speaker position on the back deck. I bought the DynaMat on Amazon.com, though you might find it cheaper somewhere else..it was considerably less then what Best Buy and other local shops were asking for it.

Thanks! I've installed Dynamat before so am familiar with it. (Still have the roller too.)

How difficult was the rear deck removal?

This issue is the most annoying to me, it's actually embarrassing when I hear it a lot from certain songs and especially when friends are in the car. I feel like they can hear it (which I'm sure they can). If this works then I'll do the DynaMat idea. I've had troubles with this rattling since day one. The system is really good but the rattling ruins in some songs.

Fleece/felt Tape is also great stuff for rattles your can pin point and crevices between plastic pieces.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/JVCC-FELT-06-Polyester-Felt-thick/dp/B000QDRRNE"]Amazon.com: JVCC FELT-06 Polyester Felt Tape (1mm thick felt): 3/4 in. x 75 ft. (Black): Home Improvement[/ame]

Closed Cell Foam (CCF) & Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) amongst other various mat/adhesive based products can be your friend too when isolating and 'killing' rattles for good.

For those wanting to the cheapy Dynamat w/ a neighborhood lowe's

1 roll of Peel & Stick & 1 roll of 2" aluminum tape .. asphalt/butyl with aluminum back, pretty much the same as dynamat or fatmat (cheaper dynamat). Go read the reviews on the lowe's site for the product or around the web...plenty of people show pictures and discuss it.

Good luck! I fought the battle early on in the 3g TL-S and won.. it was a nice feeling.

Not difficult at all, removed the rear seats where some bolts hold it in place. All said and done it took about two hours being very cautious about placement of the Dynamat. It could have all went faster I'm sure but the extra time in placement I think helped a lot especially around the speakers. Just be careful when removing the rear seats, the leather in our cars leave a lot to be desired from a durability standpoint.

Remove head rests. Loosen lower seat retaining bolts. Then you have to use some force to pry the seats loose from the clips. It's gonna seem, like you're braking something, but don't worry, but you're gonna have to pull pretty hard on it. Then loosen bolts on the seat backs, pull seat back off. Done.

From previous posts on our forums....hope it helps some.

Where are the lower seat cushion retaining bolts accessed from? (Bottom, back, etc)

I haven't removed my Genny's rear seat, but usually you just reach in with a socket wrench in the gap between the upper and lower seat cushions (ie: similar to where the lower LATCH car seat anchors are).

I have also notices a strange "clunk" noise coming from rear deck only if i go on uneven roads. The sound was very faint initially but seems to get worse overtime. I removed the spare tire and everything else from the trunk trying to isolate the noise but no success do far. I suspect one of the suspension bushings has gone bad. This is becoming very annoying. I will take the car in tomorrow because is due for service anyway.
Aslo my parking sensors stopped working:confused:

My rear sun shade rattles when up but when down its quiet back there...

I too have this issue. I have 18,500 miles on my 2012 4.6 Just recently started hearing the vibration with the Bass. I do not think we should have to fix this, since it is under warranty. I plan on having the dealer look at it and tell me nothing is wrong, which is SOP for Hyundai.

Let us know how that works at the dealer. From what I've heard, rattles are only fixed under 1 year/12K miles.

The dealer is ordering a center rear speaker which is the sub. I will get it replaced next Monday and I will let you all know if that resolves my vibration. The technician said all of the speakers were tight and felt the noise was from a failed center speaker.

Yeah, please let us know the outcome and if it fixes the issue.

I have a slight rattling noise that emanates from the right rear area of the cabin. It's neither audit system nor under-car related, but has the sound of a fit/finish deal and I've been unable to chase it down or isolate it.

I'm glad to see the rear seat removal tip--maybe I'll do that and just do a once-over on all of it to tighten things up and scout it out. Weird. More annoying than anything but now that I know it's there, it's driving me bonkers.
