  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey Genesis Gurus,
My dealer is asking the following for the rear Wing badge installation
a) Wing - $68
b) Labor - $115

Total - $183

Is this a fair deal?

Thanks
Sudip

No, pay less HERE for one and do it yourself. :)

Well I was looking at the some of threads at I saw people commenting that the badge they ordered did not fit the 2015 holes which are drilled in. Is it true?

That's true; for the 2015 the posts on the badge have to be cut off. Nevertheless, I think that price is unreasonably high.

Yes, what CtK said. I paid $16.95 shipped from eBay with tabs removed, plus a dollar for fishing line and another three for a bottle of IPA. Waiting on some decent weather to do the job.

I did mine in no time in 20 degrees in my garage. A hairdryer and fishing line and it came off easy. Hardest part is getting it lined up and pulling the trigger on removing the backing, because once you do it sticks and sticks fast.

Mine was on the car when I bought it ... no charge added on

I was at a different dealership for an oil change and I'm pretty sure I saw a charge of $399 for the badge that was on the car.

After reading the posts where dealers are asking for big bucks to install the badge, I consider myself really lucky. After we'd finished all the paperwork, my salesman reached into his desk drawer and pulled out a Genesis badge and asked if I wanted them to put it on - no charge. I said heck yes and when I picked up the car the next day, there it was. Nice touch.
Freeman Hyundai in Irving TX if anyone is interested. My second Hyundai from Freeman. Top drawer folks. Highly recommended.

i had the dealer include the rear badge as i wouldnt buy it if i was charged
I noticed that the front badge is like an inch longer than than rear one they put on
when i inquired at parts desk, he said front badge has the nipples that have to be cut off, front badge is only 3 dollars more, you wouldnt notice the difference unless u measured both, but now that i know, i think i want to change it

I haven't seen anyone offer a Genesis emblem finished in chrome (use the Genesis factory rear script Hyundai badge as an example). I think that chrome would look a bit more fitting on a luxury sedan like the Genesis when compared to the satin finish emblems/badges one finds on ebay and the like. Also such a badge/emblem would more closely match the script already on the rear of the car. Making the emblem the same thickness as the factory emblems certainly wouldn't hurt either because right now the ones I've seen and the one I have on my car look like they were stamped out of beer cans in a cookie mold. Anyone know if such an item exists?

Have no clue where you got the idea these are satin finish. I can tell you the original ones which are the only ones I believe is available, are shiny chrome finish. The one I linked t a few posts above is an original shiny chrome for $10,95 delivered from a US supplier.

I like the satin finish, i hate chrome. lol

The factory badges are satin finish just like the front good badge, just smaller. The previous model sedans had a chrome badge. Freeman Hyundai put the old model have on mine so I ended up ordering a factory one and redoing it myself. The 2015 badge looks much better than the old chrome ones.

Mine was really simple, I think they wanted about $100 for the rebadge. I told them to I'll take it for free or it's a no deal. Badge was free almost immediately!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Which site did you order it from? And did you have to cut off the place holders?
